Player: Chris
The group has assembled outside of the lodge. You will play as Chris for this scene as he ventures to unlock the doors to the cabin. You will chat with Josh and Ashley before assuming control. The dialogue decisions you make during this scene will only effect Chris’ personality and relationships. Once control is gifted to you, walk towards the camera before following Josh up the path. Here you will see Matt; on the left is Guidance Totem #2. Follow Josh to the side of the house.
When you reach your destination, investigate the empty axe holder: Mystery Man Clue #4. Now you can help Josh push the green metal cabinet so you can climb into the window.
You’ll want to explore the lodge, there are a many collectibles to find. In the storage room in which you land first, go straight ahead, near some bicycles, you will find Loss Totem #1. Walk left and you will find two doors: a door on the left and a door on the right.
Enter the door on the left where you will find a newspaper fragment: Mystery Man Clue #2. Now go through the door on the right. In the hallway you will find a family portrait: Twins Clue #4. Following the hallway leads you back to the main foyer of the lodge.
Go left to get to the stair case. Walk straight past it to find Twins Clue #3 on a table. Go left past the locked door and into a dining room. Mystery Man Clue #3 is the answering machine here.
Climb the stair case. There will be an open archway and a table with a white sheet over it. Go past the table where you will find film trophy: Twins Clue #1. Go back to the open archway and you should soon spot an open door. This leads to the bathroom. Once there open the cabinet and reach for the deodorant can. Remember to watch out for the ‘baby’ wolverine.

Player: Matt
With the door open, you become Matt as he takes part in a fight. Depending on you decision to allow Matt to look through the binoculars or not. If you allowed him to look he will fight with Mike. If not, Emily and Jessica will fight. Your decision here will effect your personality and relationships.
While not vitally important in itself, maintaining a good relationship with Emily will mean she will be able to hand the flare gun to Matt later in the story, which could save his life depending on your decisions.
Whatever you choose here, Josh will break up the fight and send Jessica and Mike to the secluded guest cabin. Matt and Emily will head back into the woods to collect one of Emily’s forgotten bags and Sam will head upstairs for a bath.
22:43
Player: Mike
As Mike, you and Jessica will be heading to the cabin for some alone time. Before going down the path toward the cabin, there’s a nice view straight ahead where you can take a photo with Jess. It’s not necessary, but can improve your relationship with Jessica.
You will come upon a gate. Don’t worry about interacting with it; it has no power. Go right first. You will see a shed. On the ground on the left is Danger Totem #1. Go into the shed and turn the generator on.
With power supplied to the gate, you can continue on your way. You will find some police tape further up; have another chat with Jessica if you want to. Continue to trek through the woods. A scream will stop you just before you reach a mine entrance. A fallen tree will block your path, forcing you into the mines.
Jessica will fall. Making all the right moves will mean Jessica’ll be up for gettin’ down once you reach the cabin. However, she will be in her underwear when she is taken by Wendigo and falls down a mine elevator; it might be better that she has some clothes on for that. Your choice. (If you wish to see the outcome of the future you’ll find it here: Be Her Hero)
Cautious; or Heroic
Cautious – Mike will suggest Jessica tries to squeeze past the mine cart, but she will not try and Mike will jump down. This will damage your relationship.
Heroic – Mike will jump straight down to help Jessica. This will increase your relationship with Jessica.
Progress through the mines. Soon a wild mine cart appears. Use your highly developed QTE skills to stopped it in its tracks. The path will fork; go right. Here you will find Fortune Totem #1.
Go back and take the left path this time. At the top of the stairs, you should see a shrine to the right. At the shrine you will find a cigar stub on the barrel: Mystery Clue #5; and a Native American drawing on the back wall: Mystery Man Clue #6. Leave the shrine behind; a beam will fall from the supports, narrowly missing the couple.
On you way out of the mines there is a table on the right. Check out the map on the table: 1952 Clue #1. Now exit to the mines (don’t worry you’ll be back soon enough) and take a path on the left to find Loss Totem #2. Then the path on the right.
The couple will find some mounted binoculars and Jessica will spot movement in the guest cabin. Mike can take a look for himself. Look around until a Wendigo pops its head up (If you choose not to look through the binoculars, Mike will not see this scene in a flashback).
Open the gate that you can see on the left. At the bottom of the stairs an owl will startle Mike and Jessica will mock him; you can either be annoyed or witty.
Cross the bridge and you will find another log blocking your path, but this time the couple won’t give up and go into a creepy mine. Jessica will climb atop it and throw a snowball at Mike. He turns away to grab some ammo to mount his snow-based assault, but Jessica is gone. You hear her scream and… scene.
22:44
Player: Sam
It turns out there’s no hot water, so Sam will have to turn on the boiler. Leave the bathroom and turn right; into Hannah’s bedroom.
Upon entry go left and look on Hannah’s beside table you should find a postcard: Mystery Man Clue #8. Now to the right, by the window is Tattoo Business card: Twins Clue #5. Then go around the bed and into Hannah’s closet. On the ground there is a Compatibility Test ripped from a magazine: Twins Clue #6.
Go downstairs, where you will meet up with Josh, Ashley and Chris. Josh will go with you (Sam) down to the boiler room to turn the hot water on and send Ashley and Chris to find a non-branded Spirit Board. Follow Josh downstairs.
After discussing the budding romance blooming between Ashley and Chris your next clue will be right in front of you, a photo: Twins Clue #2.
Keep following Josh until you reach the boiler room. Chat with Josh along the way about being back. Josh will begin tinkering with the boiler. You can find a baseball bat, initiating the Butterfly Effect: Something For Later, but you shouldn’t need it if you’re following this walkthrough to the letter. Picking it up you can either be humorous or serious; depending on your decision, it will elicit a different story of his family from Josh.
Josh will hand you the flashlight. A ‘Don’t Move’ QTE will appear; keep still so Josh can fix the boiler. Now it’s time to turn on the boiler. Complete the QTE to high five Josh… or just leave him hanging.
A noise will ring through the boiler room, frightening Sam. Josh will make fun of her, prompting you for a response: you can either prank Josh for revenge or protest and say you weren’t scared. The noise will ring again this time repeating, constant. You can either check it out alone or together with Josh. (Your decision effects Sam’s personality and relationships)
You will be chased by a sadistic monk; hit the QTE to escape his grasp. Turns out it was Chris playing a prank.
Everything’s okay and the hot water is on, so Sam will go take a bath. And Josh, Ashley and Chris will sit down for a seance.

Player: Matt
If you pre-ordered the game or bought an extended edition of the game, you will be able to play a ‘deleted scene’ from the game. There are two collectibles here, but they do not count towards the trophy.
Once you have control, turn around and walk towards the screen. Go round the side of the lodge where Chris climb in through the window; there is another cigar stub: Mystery Man Clue #32.
Go back to the start of this scene and go straight. There will be a gate at the end of the path for you to open for your lady.
You can have a conversation, here, concerning the fallout of the fight in the lodge. If you wish to keep Emily happy, continue to do so. Both can still live, even if they are at odds, but specific actions need to be taken later on depending on how things proceed. I will give those details when they arise.
Keep walking and talking. Emily will lead you somewhere more private. As it turns out, this was where she and Mike used to make-out, presumably. If you interact with the table setting twice, you will reveal a heart with Mike and Emily’s initials carved into it.
Continuing on your path, you will see a large totem pole. This contains an optional piece of dialogue, you can just by-pass it if you want. Emily will stick her hand inside and feign danger. If can choose to act (save or look around back), she will revel in her prank; improving Matt’s relationship with Emily. If you do nothing, Matt will have guessed it was a prank disappointing Emily; reducing their relationship.
Keep going, you are almost at the end of your journey in this scene. You will reach a ‘WELCOME BACK’ sign written in blood. This is Mystery Man Clue #31. The sign prompt the couple to head back to the safety of the lodge.
