Check CentOS Version Command - E Learning

To Check CentOS Version, Open Linux Terminal and type Following command
cat /etc/centos-release
You can also use redhat-release command
cat /etc/redhat-release
If you’re using Latest Version Centos 7, You can use Following Command which will give you more information than two previous commands
cat /etc/os-release
Sample output will be like
VERSION=”7 (Core)” ID=”centos” ID_LIKE=”rhel fedora” VERSION_ID=”7″ PRETTY_NAME=”CentOS Linux 7 (Core)” ANSI_COLOR=”0;31″ CPE_NAME=”cpe:/o:centos:centos:7″ HOME_URL=”https://www.centos.org/” BUG_REPORT_URL=”https://bugs.centos.org/”
