Rivals Chelsea and Liverpool take a break from Premier League action this weekend as they prepare to do battle at Wembley Stadium for the second time in 2022.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds beat Chelsea in February's EFL Cup final, as goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher slotted home the winning spot-kick, in a bizarre penalty shootout victory.

However, Thomas Tuchel will be looking for revenge this time around, as the former PSG coach looks to avoid ending the season without a trophy at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool are still chasing a potential quadruple this month, with a narrow title race against Manchester City, and a Champions League final date with Real Madrid on May 28.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool predicted lineups

Chelsea are still without long term absentees Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell but midfield duo N'Golo Kante and Jorginho have both returned to training in a crucial boost for Chelsea.

Tuchel also confirmed it's 'very unlikely' Mateo Kovacic will feature after he limped off with an ankle injury following a nasty tackle from Dan James in Wednesday's win over Leeds.

The manager's main selection call comes over who to lead the Blues attack with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Pulisic's recent form boosting their starting chances as German pair Timo Werner and Kai Havertz battle for the final spot.

Klopp has Roberto Firmino back available following a foot injury but his Brazilian teammate Fabinho looks set to miss with a thigh strain.

His absence could bring skipper Jordan Henderson into the starting side with Thiago Alcantara, Andy Robertson and Mo Salah also recalled by Klopp.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool betting odds

This game comes at a crucial point in the season for both sides with Liverpool aiming for a clean sweep of major honours and Chelsea desperate not to end the campaign trophyless. 

Klopp's charges bounced back from their Anfield draw with Tottenham, to beat Aston Villa in midweek, and keep up the pressure on City, ahead of the final weeks of the season.

Tuchel has a strong record against Klopp since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in January 2021, with a win and two draws across their three Premier League meetings, and Liverpool have not beaten the Blues inside 90 or 120 minutes since September 2020.
