Chi Alpha The Cult | "Cult" : 1) A System Of Religious Veneration And ...

Under the banner of “obey your spiritual leaders” comes a sense of leader idolatry. From there the Leaders of XA are looked at as the example and spirit lead leaders that they become the one true spiritual leader. What ever they say goes and is not questioned. They blindly follow the leadership and its almost heresy to question the leaders message. What ever they do is seen as spirit lead and needs to be followed and mimicked. From Winkie Pratney to the head leadership on that campus they are idolized. They are not questioned. They are blindly obeyed. When people question their message or authority, like attack dogs the loyal blind following people of XA swoop in and defend the idolized leaders and discourage or discredit those who disagree. They do have one thing right, they and everyone are lead by a spirit… 1 JOHN 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Blindly and unquestionably following “spirit lead leaders” is not Biblical that is simply idolatry of men. JESUS is the example. Not Winkie or anyone else. JESUS is THE teacher. Not Winkie’s teachings. JESUS is THE spiritual authority. Not Winkie or anyone else. Everyone else are just ones who edify the church that Jesus is the head of.

The Small Group is key for Chi Alpha. It’s where teachings are more privately given and people are more controlled and manipulated. What ever their end, its done out of public view. This is why Small Groups are so important. Keep in mind, this is outside and separate from their big worship day when all the small groups come together.

If there was a big service project where a church needed help, during small group time; the small group will be chosen and kept separate and private.

If there was a big public event that involved reaching lost and fellowship with other believers from other ministries, the small group takes higher priority.

If ANY event or situation came up during small group time; the leader would discourage, shun, or guilt their members from taking part in it. This ties into when small group time is conveniently planned.

The high priority and importance of small groups held to privacy is for the control and manipulation of its members because there is no reason for anyone to be kept from fellowship, worship, unity, and service at anytime and passing up the God given opportunity to leave the sheep to find the lost one is flat out contrary to what Jesus and scripture teaches.

[NOTE: This is NOT saying ALL small groups are like this but according to XA’s own, its encouraged ]

What do they do at Small group? Well it depends on who is the leader of it; BUT the organization does say what the small group SHOULD be doing.

The Staff give information to the Resource Leaders and the Resource Leaders then tell the small group leaders what to do that week for their small group time.

What It Looks Like On The Surface:Typically it is a discussion about a certain topic. They all meet at someones apartment, encouraged to bring a new friend and just hangout for a few hours. Sounds all nice and dandy right? Thats exactly what they want you to feel like.

What Is Actually Encouraged:The purpose for being you into their small group is actually more sad. The true purpose of small groups is to find and build more XA loyal members and expand the organization. Not to be your best friend and hold your hand through life. Thats it. Members are more like numbers and are owned by the small group leader. If at any time a member is not XA loyal, they are “let go” and left alone, no longer invited, and almost ignored (except for in public to maintain their image).

What Is “discussed”Those who do continue to attend small group get to hear their nice topics like, Perfection, Sinlessness, and all the teachings of Chi Alpha, Winkie, Assemblies of God doctrines, and Moral Government Theology.

What is even more sad and scary is the Bible is rarely read AND STUDIED. Maybe a few nice sweet verses here and there used and twisted to validate the discussion but actually going through it and studying it is almost non-existnat.

When an old member wants to come back to XA then suddenly the leader treats them like they were best friends and ‘let go’.

Small Group Event PlanningThe small group leader learns the members schedules and other affiliations then plans to direct them into only XA related events. They will purposely plan small group events during other ministry times to prevent their members from attending and connecting with other ministries.

Leadership Training LTCThis is a constant thing throughout the semester then the members who are not even ready for ‘leadership’ or are involved with other ministries are then summited for LTC to continue the XA membership cycle.

This is one of the most controlling, manipulating, and purposeful lie the organization holds but is also kept quiet and secret until it is needed.

Small group members are discouraged from attending or taking part in other ministries.

Events will be purposefully planned on days that the other ministries are doing things so that members area actually forced to chose. The use of guilt is often used when missing small group events when attending other ministries.

When going into Leadership Training, new recruits are told that they CAN’T be a apart of other ministries and have to choose! People who are known to attend other ministries regularly are purposely and maliciously chosen for LTC so that they are forced to chose.

They will pound in the idea that THE small group should be most important and of highest priories and must take up available free time, therefore leaving not time for other ministries. If that malicious lie does not work the most ignorant and purposefully misused verse to justify their selfish self seeking ministry idolatry is “you can’t serve two masters”.

Why is all of this so wrong?

1) It gradually builds a sense of ministry competition. A feeling that the other ministries are almost like adversaries and competitors. Exactly how NOT to drive the church body.2) It hurts the church body as a whole when a ministry is selfish and self centered.3) It encourages lies, manipulation, malicious control, and hurting other ministries.

They teach everyone to OBEY your spiritual authorities; so who is theirs?

The Assemblies of God Church is the closes contributor and supporter, they would be authority #1.

Most come from a deep theological Pentecostal background, that would be authority #2.

The campus staff leaders they personally praise and follow regardless of what is taught would be their authority #3.

The speakers like Winkie Prantey are so heavily praised and idolized that he (and others like him) would be authority #4.

The Resource Leaders are told they are leaders over small group leaders and the small group leaders are pressured into obeying resource leaders, that would be authority #5

The small group leaders inject a sense of their authority into all their small group and that would make them the 6th authority.

Of course they will claim that The Holy Spirit is their sole authority but sadly thats not the only thing they teach and the only impression they purposely give.

God, through the Bible and used by The Holy Spirit is the only #1 and only spiritual authority there is. The rest is man’s desire to have some kind of control or power…

This is a theology that has grown over the decades. It redefines ideas and concepts in the bible, then when it hits a contradiction, it redefines what it contradicts and keeps going. Now we are at the point where it has become is own theology and has redefined God, God’s character, the actions of Jesus, and even impacting salvation. It went from a corrupted misunderstanding to a heresy.

It teaches a number of things:1) God is immutable and changes his mind.2) God does not have sovereign control over earthly events.3) God does not know the future entirely.4) Jesus’ atonement, purpose, and mission is distorted and twisted all together!5) We can in essence save ourselves6) We can become sinless and perfect.7) God can sin.

Just to name a few lies all tied in a nice package called “moral government theology” also known as Governance Atonement Theory.

Where did this lie originate from? It’s been a long drawn out idea that has just grown into this huge false theology. John Wesley diped into it and others took what he said and expanded it. The peusdo-theology is continued from and by William Booth, Harry Conn, Winkie Pratney, Gordon Olson, and many more public speakers, and authors.

YWAM (Youth With A Mission) began to teach it world wide.

And Chi Alpha is teach bits and pieces of it as well.

The best explanation a person could give is that God hates the sinner so much that He had to send Jesus to love the sinner (The verses used to justify this were slaughtered through misunderstanding literature but we’ll roll with it). In some instances the example of the sinner is taken out and the statement about God Hating remains. But even that understanding of God is heavily flawed.The ultimate question is: Can God Hate anything? Can God Hate, period?This question is complicated to answer for those who don’t read the Bible. First you have to know how God himself defines “hate”.1 JOHN 3:15 “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”God equaled Hate in the heart as murder in the flesh. Murder is a sin, so therefore hate is also.The next question is Can God Sin?JAMES 1:13 “When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;First, God can not sin. That is against his nature and defies all rationality and logic.Second, Hate is sin.Therefore God can not Hate.

Who is XA ultimately Worshiping if they push twisted and distorted views of God, blindly quote and obey leadership without question, control and manipulate their small groups, and rarely aid other ministries?

Them selves.

The ministry itself seems to be their god and idol. They fight for it, obey it, control it, and justify it more than scripture, The Church, and Jesus himself.

Ideas are formulated and then accepted and preached without question as they blindly obey what their told. Ones who are disloyal to the ministry are cut off, and other ministries are seen as “competition”. This also just seems to be a more modern kind of Christianized Pharisee sect.

Apparently you can achieve perfection or be sinless before you die or at least its possible. Sad no one told Paul that and no one wrote that in the Bible. But it makes sense to XA.

True Repentance means ceasing from ALL sin before you die. This idea of Repentance is taught in small groups nation wide.

For you to stop sinning that would take an action of not, of our selves, while still in the flesh. Thats the problem. We are still in the flesh and the flesh is corrupted until first we are freed from the flesh then we achieve eternal life.Another teaching being thrown around is the idea that we can or are able to fulfill the law and not fully found to the flesh and through changing habits and always walking in the spirit, sinless perfection and fully adherence to the law is possible. The sad thing is that this just sounds so good and so positive but it defeats and decays and destroys Jesus’ mission and God’s purpose.1) We CAN NOT full fully the law – Rom. 8:3; Gal. 3:21; 3:16; Eph. 2:12) We CAN NOT get away from sin – Rom. 7:14,18; Gal. 5:173) We will ALWAYS fall short – Rom. 3:23ROMANS 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” The word “all” obviously includes everyone who is sinful. Which also means NO ONE has not been sinful. 1 John 1:8-10 “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.”2 Corinthians 5:21 – “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”So if EVERYONE has sinned, and ONLY Jesus was sinless, and thinking you are sinless is a lie… how exactly can we be sinless without being a walking contradiction to scripture?

The XA approach to Justification Through Atonement can be summed up like this: Because your free will is greater than God’s Will, you have the power to save your self, despite what God wills for his creation.

If you will to be saved, you are saved. If you want to not be saved, you will not be saved. Notice there are a lot of “you”s in there. But most importantly, notice the “you”s are more powerful that God. Here is the question the separates the the sheep. If God Almighty himself, wanted you personally in his family for his will to be done, and did everything in his power to convince you to believe in him… could you forever be strong willed enough to never break and never give into God? XA would teach that yes, your will could resist God’s will and you could chose to be stronger than God’s Will. This is NOT arguing for the idea that ‘everyone will be saved in the end’ by no means. This is just an question illustrating the struggle between our power as a created free willed creature and the love and will of the creator of the universe. And again, not matter the verses used, distorted, and twisted to justify the argument for Man’s Will is stronger than God’s Will; there are verses that have to still be explained and addressed (that actually expose the idea as a lie). EPHESIANS 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast.” MATTHEW 16:16-17 “Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” This verse drops the bomb on that lie. YOU can not give yourself FAITH and then SAVE YOURSELF because of it. God has to FIRST chose to offer YOU a GIFT.
