I never got that; what is so different in the meta for both versions that make three of it in one okay but even one in the other taboo? Combined with Pseudo Space and Terraforming, you end up with a splashable draw engine for nearly any deck, and Monarch FTK showed just how degenerate the card could get. Ultimately, the TCG and OCG choose to hit decks differently, and the TCG chose to kill Chicken Game right off the bat while the OCG went after some of the other cards in the FTK decks. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chicken Game resurface in the OCG later, only to get banned. Which is why it's banned. Konami's mentality is that if you're using old cards, you're not buying new ones. Simplest solution - force you to not use those old cards. Easiest method to make that happen? Release cards that make the old cards obsolete, and if that doesn't work, ban 'em.
