The Chinese Fireball dragon is a red creature with an odd fringe of fine gold spikes around its face.

From the Story[]

Discovered in Book 4, Chapter 19, The Hungarian Horntail[]

"The Chinese Fireball dragon is one of the four dragons to be involved in the first task of the Triwizard Tournament. When Harry arrives at the dragon enclosure near the Forbidden Forest, the Chinese Fireball is shooting mushroom-shaped fire clouds into the air. The dragon is hit with several Stunning Spells simultaneously by the dragon-keepers and falls to the ground, unconscious."

Discovered in Book 4, Chapter 20, The First Task[]

""Viktor Krum picks the Chinese Fireball dragon as his opponent in the first task of the Triwizard Tournament. The Chinese Fireball is hit with a spell in the eye by Krum; it crushes half of its real eggs as it tramples around in agony."
