Our easy chocolate covered strawberries recipe lets you choose your preferred HERSHEY’S Chocolate chips. The key in how to make chocolate covered strawberries is to allow each piece of fruit to fully dry before dipping. This helps avoid getting water in your melted chocolate and lessens moisture between the fruit and chocolate coating. Try decorating your chocolate covered strawberries with sprinkles or add a drizzle melted peanut butter and white crème. If you’re feeling crafty, grab some wooden skewers and make a chocolate covered strawberries bouquet. No matter the occasion, HERSHEY’S chocolate covered strawberries are guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients
- 60 strawberries fresh

- 2 Tbsps shortening (do NOT use butter, margarine, spread or oil)
Directions
1.Cover tray with wax paper.
2.Place chocolate chips and shortening in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1-1/2 minutes or just until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred; cool slightly.
3.Holding strawberry by top, dip 2/3 of each berry into chocolate mixture; shake gently to remove excess. Place on prepared tray.
4.Refrigerate until coating is firm, about 30 minutes. Store, covered, in refrigerator. For best results, use within 24 hours. Coats about 5 dozen small strawberries. (About 1 cup coating).
TipBe sure the strawberries are dry before dipping.
*Butter, margarine and spreads contain water which may prevent chocolate from melting properly; oil may prevent chocolate from forming a coating.
