Martin Bee said on 26/Nov/25Mark Lanegan's nephew just described him as 6'4. I've seen Mark a couple of times live, and I would say he might have been close to 6'3. I think he did look a bit taller than Chris or Nick Cave, even though he was not in good shape. About Chris, I'm not sure either as he had solid footwear most of the time. He was known as the town drunk before he could legally drink - AT AGE 12. He mentioned in his book he was 6'2 at the age of 18 and had a full beard. Crazy. I guess that goes to show you how much of height is genetics, or maybe he just had enough food to eat (I strongly doubt he ate healthy though haha). I heard Chris Cornell drank and smoked marijuana excessively at the age of 13 but I can't find a source for that one. Mark heavily documented his own youth though and you can read all about his early life from "Sing Backwards and Weep". I'd put Mark Lanegan at 6'2.5 just like Cornell. I'm not sure who would be taller out of him or Cornell, but there's definitely not much between them. I can't imagine being 40 pounds lighter, I'd look like I was in a concentration camp! Chris did a lot of good work with his Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation for children, so wouldn't surprise me if he was involved in investigating some bad stuff. Not enough evidence to conclude he was murdered though. His loss from the music scene is one of the biggest in recent years, he really had something special, the prototype great singer/songwriter. Actually, Ann Wilson claimed in a recent interview that when she first met Chris, he was wearing enormous boots that "probably made him 6'3".
