How to calculate...
  1. You will need the date of assessment (DOA) and date of birth (DOB).
  2. Convert these dates in this order... Year, Month, Day.
  3. Using the converted dates, subtract the DOB from the DOA.
  4. Multiply the number of years by 12 and add to the number of months. If there are 15 or more days, add 1 more month to the age. This will give you the child's chronological age.
If the calculation is not possible without "borrowing," borrow these amounts...
  • If you need more days, borrow 1 month from the months column and add 30 extra days to the days column.
  • If you need more months, borrow 1 year from the years column and add 12 extra months to the months column.
Note... The DOA is the date that the assessment ended, not when it began. There should be no more than 2 weeks between assessment start to end without rechecking any items the child was unable to complete.
