Definitions:An aggregation of information system components that is designated for configuration management and treated as a single entity in the configuration management process. Sources: NIST SP 800-128 under Configuration Item An interval estimate [low, high] of a population parameter. If the population is repeatedly sampled, and confidence intervals are computed for each sample with significance level α, approximately 100(1− α) % of the intervals are expected to contain the true population parameter. Sources: NIST SP 800-90B under Confidence interval System and assets, whether physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that the incapacity or destruction of such systems and assets would have a debilitating impact on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination of those matters. Sources: NIST SP 800-30 Rev. 1 under Critical Infrastructure Essential services and related assets that underpin American society and serve as the backbone of the nation's economy, security, and health.
