I tried everything to get it out. I tried using tweezers, a angled pick, tiny flat head, etc. Nothing is working so i want to try to take the whole assembly out, but am unsure how to do it. Does anybody know how? Thanks Reply aiwa101 View Public Profile Send a private message to aiwa101 Find More Posts by aiwa101 View iTrader Profile Old Sep 7, 2012 | 11:55 PM Share Share Options #2 eepowers's Avatar eepowers Member Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 106 From: Dallas, Tx Try using a small pointed knife to flip it on is side, and out with it. I had a penny fall in mine a month ago. I got it out, but not before lowing the 20amp fuse that goes with it. I just need to figure out how to take the assembly out. Maybe a pencil, put a drop of superglue on the eraser and stick it to the coin. Let it dry and it'll give you a bit more leverage? Try and check out the repair manual on the nicoclub website. If that fails you can always go to the dealer and explain why you have a nickel, a pencil, bubble gum, 3m tape, wood dowel, and a screw driver jammed into your cigarette lighter. They may take pity on you. Sorry about the joke Last edited by jommbi; Sep 9, 2012 at 02:17 AM. I used a pair of hose pliers I had previouslybought cheap at harbor freight, to grip the sides of the socket. I moved it from side to side and then the socket popped out of the console. There was then small opening on the bottom of the socket where I was able to insert a flathead screwdriver to tilt the lodged coin upward. I then used a pair of needlenose pliers to pull the coin out. Now I have a working socket Reply harvey02 View Public Profile Send a private message to harvey02 Find More Posts by harvey02 View iTrader Profile Old Jul 13, 2019 | 10:57 PM Share Share Options #15 Chris Louis's Avatar Chris Louis Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 17 I had some pennies stuck in mine. One time I was vacuuming my Maxima at a local car wash and stuck the hose in that compartment. The vacuum was strong enough to suck the coins right out of the cigarette lighter. Now I make sure I keep that cap closed when I'm not using it.
