This page contains IGN's walkthrough for City of Falling Flame in Code Vein.

As the name suggests, this area will throw fire at you from the sky. To get here, you must defeat the Gilded Hunter boss in Ashen Cavern and use the Dog Tags to open a nearby door that leads upward. Please visit the Ashen Cavern walkthrough for more detailed information.

Area D-18 City of Falling Flame

There are multiple points throughout this stage when you must wait for flames to stop emitting from the ground. Additionally, there are flaming sections that you can't avoid, that slowly take down your health.

When you're ready, take the left path ahead and wrap around, past the flames. Remember to wait for them to be gone before you try passing. Head to the right and you'll come to an enemy guarding a ladder. Kill it and climb up.

Follow this path around to the left towards another ladder that leads down. Across from this ladder is another one, but it cannot be accessed at this time. You'll have to go around to the left. Watch out for the lava between the cracks on the ground here. Make sure you roll through it to take as little damage as possible.

Take the right path here and follow it towards a few enemies. Be careful of the ground. Keep going, up the stairs to the upper level of this area.

From here, kick down the ladder on your right and then follow the path back down to your left. This will take you to a stretch of lava-filled ground, so make sure you have full health at this point. There is a small path on the side of the lava you can take, so look out for that. This will lead to a ladder.

Continue ahead and climb down the ladder to the lower area. Just ahead is another fire pit, so wait for it to stop before running towards the enemy in front of you.

After you take out the enemy, you'll have to wait for the fire behind it to stop, as well. Do that and you'll come to a split.

Take the left path to an area that leads to a ladder that will take you up. Be careful of the multiple enemies in this section.

When you reach the top of the ladder, take the right path. This will take you to the earlier section of the area where the ladder shortcut was inaccessible. Kick the ladder to trigger the shortcut.

Head back the way you came and continue on the path while staying on the second level. You'll come to a bridge with a drop-down on the left side, just above an enemy. Drop down on top of it for a plummet attack.

Take the narrow path behind this enemy that leads to the lava-cracked ground. In an alcove on the right, you'll see a Regen Activation Factor. Grab it.

From here, head back the way you came, to the ladder that leads up and continue on the second level, making your way past the bridge you just dropped down. Keep going and the path will wrap around to the right, down some stairs and lead to a split.

From here, take the right path and follow it around, past multiple enemies and more fire pits. The path will curve around to the left and lead to more lava-covered ground with a rotten Mistle in the distance.

Cross the lava-covered ground and purify the Mistle. From here, head back the way you came. At this point, you'll need to do a little backtracking to get to the end of the stage.

You'll need to head all the way back, up the stairs that lead to the second level and past the bridge and ladder on your right. Head to the second ladder, right next to the path that leads back to the shortcut at the beginning of the level.

Climb down the ladder and you'll recognize this as an area you've visited before. There's a path on the right covered in lava that hasn't been explored yet. Head this way and it'll lead you up via a ramp.

Follow this path around to the right and you'll come up to a ladder. Climb it down. Keep following the linear path and eventually, a cutscene will trigger.

When you're ready, cross the lava-covered ground and get ready to fight a tough enemy ahead - One with blue flames emitting from its back. Once you kill it, head to the path behind it, to a ladder.

Take a right at the top of the ladder and follow the path until you see a drop-down below you on the right. Here will be a Mistle, so rest up.

Razed Cityscape Mistle

After you rest, you'll come to another split, just before multiple enemies that drop down from above. Go right, under the bridge and look out for the tall enemy pacing back and forth ahead. At the end of this section is another ladder, so climb it.

Take a right at the top and head to the next ladder that leads down.

Again, you'll encounter a large enemy with a massive sword behind some lava-covered ground. Take care of it and keep going. When you reach the next split, take a left and be prepared to walk across a long stretch of lava-covered ground.

The next area will throw a spiky rolling enemy at you. Deal with it and continue onward.

Yet again, you'll encounter two more spiky rolling enemies and more lava-covered ground. Take the enemies out and keep going until you reach a split.

At this point, take the path on the left that leads to more lava-covered ground and an enemy with a long-range weapon.

Take a right, through the doorway and make your way to another area with a large blue-flamed enemy. Defeat it and continue along this path, past two more spiky rolling enemies, up some stairs on the right.

Pass the enemy on the second level and head straight towards the ladder ahead. This will lead you to a much-needed Mistle. Rest here and get ready for the boss.

Take this pathway to the boss arena, but don't forget to talk to Thebe first to restore the Vestiges. Make sure you do all the ones available.

After this, head to the arena to take on Successor of the Claw.

Successor of the Claw - Boss Fight

The Successor of the Claw boss fight is interesting because it looks way more intimidating than it actually is. The boss' slow speed is something you can take advantage of. Bring heavy armor and large weapons if you need to, and wail on it.

Sticking close by is definitely the way to go, so do that and roll through its attacks like usual. If you're having trouble, check out our Successor of the Claw boss guide for tips on how to take it down.

After you defeat it, teleport to the Iceless Falls Mistle in Ridge of Frozen Souls. Take the left path that leads down to a cave. Keep going this way, and take a right, into the cave, down some ladders and eventually, you'll reach Crown of Sand.
