State Road 16 will stay narrow. DOT said the public will need to contact county and state leaders if they want to see any widening of this road.

Ahead of the fifth day of the Clay County Agricultural Fair, officials from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Clay County Department of Public Safety addressed a litany of challenges faced in the first four, including traffic back-ups, parking lot flooding, unruly guests and preventable health emergencies.

Some viewers tell News4JAX that they waited up to three hours to get to the Clay County Fair on Sunday.

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – When the 35th annual Clay County Fair kicks off on Thursday, it will be the first major event to have full-capacity crowds in Northeast Florida in more than a year. While the fair will welcome thousands back to the Clay County Fairgrounds, safety measures will be in place. It’s been such a hurdle to get the gates open and we are so excited to be back,” said General Manager Tasha Hyder. “Everything that you’re used to seeing at the Clay County Fair is going to be here,” said Hyder. There will be several safety measures in place, including more sanitization and hand washing stations, additional signage, and increased cleaning.

Starting on Thursday, the Clay County Fair will fire up the rides, yummy food, agricultural education and shows. All thanks to a cold front, our temperatures will range from the 60s and 70s with mostly sunny skies. The fair will kick off at 2 p.m. with highs in the upper 60s low 70s and mostly sunny skies. CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Great memories have been made at the Clay County Fair for generations. Crews are now setting up for this year’s event at the Clay County Fairgrounds, set to kick off Friday and last through Sunday. The Clay County Fair Association wants to make it clear that because the actual fair was canceled in spring, this is a special, modified version for families to enjoy. “I’m not a n emotional person, but I shed some tears when we made that final call to cancel the fair,” Hyder said. They’re 10 feet by 10 feet, and 6 feet away from other groups.

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. Grab your cowboy hats and head for the corndog stand! A modified version of the Clay County Fair will happen next month. After the wildly popular annual agricultural fair was canceled in the spring due to COVID-19, the Clay County Fair Association just announced its hosting a three-day, smaller event Sept. 25-27. Tasha Hyder, general manager of the Clay County Fair Association, was devastated when the decision was made in the spring to cancel. We wont have the animals, but hey, fair food is one of the top two things that people come to the fair over, she said.
