Most of you will already know this, but If you find a clay patch in a river, go to the center, and go 2 blocks along the positive Z axis, then dig down, you will most of the time find diamonds. This is super useful when trying to find diamonds. just be careful not to dig straight into lava!

Rollback Post to Revision RollBackI personally think Mojang should patch this, and it is likely indicative of a major flaw in the current world generation system (unlike older versions, which used a single "chunk seed" to determine the placement of all decorations they now set the seed prior to each individual feature, likely in an attempt to fix MC-55596, yet it is still open with 1.17 snapshots under the affected versions). Also, Mojang should stop using Java's built-in random number generator, which is awful, both in terms of randomness (it only has 48 bits of state; Bedrock uses an even worse RNG with only 32 bits of state) and performance (I made my own RNG which is truly 64 bit, meaning it has 65536 times more entropy, as well as being 7-14 times faster depending on the function used). Of course, many of the issues arise from poor seeding, which also causes all sorts of other issues which have been around for much longer.
Rollback Post to Revision RollBackTheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download. TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4. Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
If you do the same thing but with clay in a swamp, it works if you go over 7 blocks in positive Z. Although it’s a bit more complicated if you cross the chunk border while doing this. This video explains the whole thing:
