I've had 2 of the 3 passenger side jets clogged since I got the car. Every time I use the washers I think "oh I forgot, I should really fix that" and then by the time I get home I forget. Today I remembered and I used a syringe and rubbing alcohol to fix them. Fill the syringe with Alcohol, gently push it into each jet and flush them with the alcohol... After you fiddle with it a bit and push more alcohol out, you'll see it come out the bottom and other jets. Repeat this a few times on each jet. I did all 6 (3 on each) for good measure. Now it works like a charm. I have tried with just a pin on other cars in the past but it never worked, the syringe is excellent because you can apply the alcohol to the blockage directly and a little pressure by pushing down on the plunger. I think amazon or tractor supply would have them. The size I used was 27 gauge. A friend of mine works in a lab, so they had an extra they gave me. Here's all the info for the one I used which was a great size for this task. A vacuum pump gun, used to test vacuum activated switches/sensors, with a small rubber hose or tip might work also. Anytime one uses a metal tool on a plastic part, one risks damaging it, especially small orifices such as this. Anytime one uses a metal tool on a plastic part, one risks damaging it, especially small orifices such as this. That might work, though i'm not sure if a solder sucker is small enough to get into the jet. I agree that metal > plastic, but if you're very gentle and really use the alcohol and light pressure, this is an easy solution that doesn't involve disconnecting anything. You could probably disconnect the nozzle and soak it in vinegar or alcohol to get it to clear any blockages as well. That was my backup plan if I couldn't find a way to fix it without disconnecting it. The idea is to dissolve the blockage with the alcohol and flush it out. Mine only hit about a quarter of the way up the windshield and it's a solid steam. I always wondered if the pump was getting weak or the orifices in the nozzle were larger than they should be. Bob i know you are asking Joe...I too had to clean the nozzles on my 2002 after I purchased it. I used a toothpick to clean them and didn’t apply much pressure because I didn’t want to break the wood in the nozzle. as for spray, yes, there are three streams of water from each side, total of six hitting the windshield. I adjusted mine to wet different parts of the windshield. The middle stream hits the upper, the other two hit the mid, left and right. i adjust it that way so the stream would still wet the windshield properly when I am driving 80mph. Bob The nozzles are ball-and-socket, so you can rotate them around with a needle to where you want them to hit the window. Remember, the streams will be affected by your speed, so if you get them perfect at 0 mph in your driveway, that won't necessarily be ideal for the freeway speeds. It will take compromise to get them adjusted for all speeds.
