Cleaning Hack Shows How To Remove Lipstick Stains From Carpet

Trying to scrub out a stain from white carpet can often seem like an impossible task (sometimes leaving things worse than they were before), but not for one clever mum, who found a brilliant way to remove a lipstick mark from her carpet.

Over on the popular Facebook group Cleaning Hacks, Tips and Recommendations, Yvonne Milner revealed how red lipstick had been smeared into her grey carpet by her children. After trying everything she could think of to remove it, she turned to a cheap tile cleaner in the hope it might help — and the results were incredible.

After scrubbing her carpet, Yvonne found that the Astonish Tile and Grout Restorer — which retails for around £2 — removed the stain completely. On her Facebook post, she linked to the pictures and said: 'Best thing to get lipstick out of carpet? (done even wearing the stuff) don't [know] why I have it.'

Someone who commented said: 'Wow great job....that's amazing.'

Stains such as makeup, drinks or food spillages can often be a struggle to clean from carpets. And with many carpet cleaners coming with high price tags, it can be even more frustrating when they don't work.
