The ski season is coming to an end in Northern California. With very little snowfall in the past few months, ski resorts from all over the region have announced their planned closing dates for the 2021/2022 season.

While spring ski season is a delight, this is a sad time for skiing enthusiasts hoping to get their final days on the mountain. Here are the closing dates for all the ski resorts in NorCal:

  • Mt. Shasta Ski Park: closed
  • Sierra-at-Tahoe: Closed
  • Homewood: April 10
  • Diamond Peak: April 17
  • Sugar Bowl: April 17
  • Soda Springs: April 17
  • Northstar: April 18
  • Boreal: April 17
  • Heavenly: April 24
  • Kirkwood: May 1
  • Mt. Rose: April 17
  • Palisades Tahoe: May 15
  • Mammoth Mountain: May 31

In the grand scheme of things, these dates are very early. Resorts like Squaw Valley and Mammoth typically stay open through the Fourth of July. Warm temperatures are melting the snow quickly, and ski season is looking to be short this year.

Let’s hope we can see some late season snow, allowing some of these places to extend their season. But for now, skiing is coming to an end in NorCal.
