Tankmannn T Hi, I am new here but I have read countless threads before creating a user name. Felt was the right thing to do since I once looked for similar information I will contain in this post. Less than a month ago I bought the Co2Art pro-series regulator from aquarium co-op. The problem with that one is when the solenoid went off the working pressure climed over 20psi from where I set it. Probably would have kept going but after 45 psi I didn’t want to wait and find out it’s max. Aquarium co-op and co2 Art said that was normal. Then a day or so later the working pressure went up even without me turning the knob and all the way off just kept going. Luckily co2art was helpful in saying to have it replaced. Aquarium co-op was good and sent a new one out right away. This one I have been using for about 3 weeks only had an issue that every day the bubble count got slower. So say I set it at 1 bps. The next day would be about 1.23... 1.38.. 1.65 all the way until over 2 bps by 5th day. So I figured “okay, I’ll just reset it every week” since I couldn’t figure it out. Support at co2 Art has been very responsive but the issue hasn’t been solved. Perhaps they didn’t understand that issue. This next issue was very clear and only started up a few days ago. Originally when the solenoid went off the bubble counter stopped, even mid bubble. Absolutely nothing got past. A few days ago after using for about 3 weeks the bubbles continued after solenoid was off. So I took it apart, checked for debris like manual stated. Cory from Aquarium co-op probably thinks I am a nagging customer and told me its normal to bubble up to an hour after do to the pressure build up. It can be 1-2 hours+ and it keeps going. After cleaning I got it to work a little better for a few days. Would stop after about an hour but now again. It won’t stop. Slows down to a bubble per minute but I am positive it won’t last much longer so I disconnected the tubing at the in-line check valve and connect it in the morning. Co2 Art pretty much says it shouldn’t happen because it worked before. I didn’t change anything. Just caught it one day after work with as many co2 bubbles as I would have mid day 2 hours after it turned off. Luckily I caught it or my fish would have been gassed up that night. So appears I am pretty much out the $125 I paid for it less than a month in. It’s my 2nd one as well. They have great customer service but I would think twice about getting one if anyone is looking into it I ordered a GLA Pro-SS and but their diffusers and check valves are on pre order so I am just waiting on that. Hopefully fingers crossed there is a noticeable difference as well as reliable. That’s almost $500 spend on 2 regulators and one doesn’t work at all. Not gonna pester co2art for my money back or aquarium co op. They could easily just say it was my own fault but I did absolutely nothing wrong. However, I do feel it’s necessary to share my experience. I’ll report back how the GLA works when I get it. #1 · Apr 26, 2019 Hi, I am new here but I have read countless threads before creating a user name. Something as trivial as breaking my bubble counter, I contacted them, and they promptly sent out a new one. If you paid for something and it isn’t working, don’t feel like you’re pestering someone when you ask them to make it right. Mine doesn’t do what you’re describing at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #3 · Apr 26, 2019 Welcome to TPT. All of the symptoms of debris stuck in the solenoid. Happened to me a number of times and blowing the solenoid through is something to try: - remove the bubble counter - remove the needle valve if you can or open it all the way up - set the working pressure to 20 psi - plug and unplug solenoid rapidly several times in a row If that does not clear the solenoid, repeat the above with max working pressure, 40 psi in your case Good luck. #4 · Apr 26, 2019 Thanks for replies and taking time to type them out! Like I said above, Customer service is great and responsive but we can’t seem to figure this one out. Not trying to shoot them down. But my experience with the quality of the regulator itself is what I feel should be shared. I did open the solenoid, tried cleaning it. Took pieces from the first one to put in after that didn’t work. That’s what worked only for a little somewhat. But the needle valve still never keeps same bubble count day to day. I have to adjust it now every day instead of once a week. So there’s multiple issues not just the solenoid not closing. Just felt was necessary to let others know. I had 2 and both have issues. 1 not useable at all and this one I have to undo tubing at check valve at night and plug back in morning. Even before that was ever an issue the bubble count was never consistent. Which I am sure is not how a regulator is suppose to work. The odds of me getting 2 defective units either has me very unlucky or quality control is hit or miss with these builds. #5 · Apr 26, 2019

This is NEVER normal...... to add insult to injury in a "worst case"second stage could reach 1st stage pressure.. all down the line. There is no safety devices on the second stage pressure.. usually..

Second issue is "possible" but it would be followed by a gradual stopping of the flow. IF it continued.. solenoids bad.. #6 · Apr 26, 2019 Sorry I am not as good as grabbing previous post to reference like Jeff. But this one is for you. Lol I didn’t think it was normal for working pressure to increase as it just kept climbing. It didn’t matter what I did. Partly why I started at 20 PSI to see how high it would go. At 45 PSI I pulled the plug. Haha The new one that worked decent for 3 weeks other than resetting bubble count. I kept it at 40 PSI and working pressure remained stable. The solenoid definitely isn’t good. I am not sure if it had anything to do with the inconsistent bubble count or not. Or if that was the needle valves fault. Co2Art sent me an email saying to ship back both units and they will send me a replacement. So their customer support is top notch. Gla is shipping out the pro-ss today. I’ll keep reporting both scenarios moving forward. #7 · Apr 26, 2019 I hope so, co2art needs to make it right. Sorry you had a lousy experience. 0 Reply #8 · Oct 3, 2022 I've got almost $250 in their cart right now, and can't get a customer service rep to answer one question. I had one rep email me back at 4 AM, but I was not awake to ask this person what I needed to at that hour. Do they have a phone number? This is making me very nervous about buying anything from them at this point. And no, this is not a review--because I haven't bought anything yet. I am simply trying to reach the correct support system before I go and buy something that does not work or I do not understand. It's only been a couple of days, and it is often said that patience is key with this hobby--although this usually refers to plants or livestock. I really want to buy a CO2 system, and don't expect perfection, but this is getting really hard, really fast--and it's supposed to be a hobby. I suppose I should just wait before throwing money away. I know I'm older and was raised with a different level of customer service, but even with lowered expectations I cannot seem to communicate well enough to even buy from them! #9 · Oct 3, 2022 Thought they were based in Europe which could be part of the problem. 0 Reply #10 · Oct 16, 2022 Yes, that is the main problem. It's leaking all over the place and I've made a video for them, described the issues in multiple emails, which then get return emails from them asking me more questions, etc. It's a never ending merry go round in which nothing has gotten resolved, with no mention of a warranty. At this point I'm just going to buy a new system; maybe this was one for me to learn from. Either way, I don't trust it in my house and a new system is better than watching it leak into the floor at will. I am dissappointed but more determined than ever to get a system that works without causing a disaster in my home. I appreciate this discount, but not the worry about what I'm going to wake up to.
