Cobblestone

Block ID: 4

Cobblestone is a stone block that is also a renewable resource. It is used in making tools like a stone pickaxe or any other tool made from stone. When a Smooth Stone block is dug out with any pickaxe it will leave behind a cobblestone block. Cobblestone will also be formed if Water comes in contact with flowing Lava. (If water comes in contact with a lava source block then it creates Obsidian). Cobblestone can be put into Furnace and smelted into a Smooth Stone block. It can be used to craft tools, cobblestone walls, cobblestone stairs, etc

Cobblestone Farms

Exploting the game mechanic that lava runoff and water runoff roduces cobblestone, infinite sources (or farms) of cobblestone can be created. If a lava source block is enclosed and a water source block is enclosed two blocks away from each other so that the runoff of both connects, cobblestone will be continually generated between the two.
