  DHS NUSTL just published a document aimed at democratizing the standing up of a UAS program for public safety agencies. Agencies can utilize the included policies, procedures, checklists, etc. to get a head start on standing up a program with just minor changes. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to author this document on behalf of a client who really does want to support our nation's first responders.   The Pulitzer race is bringing romance back to aviation! So proud (but mostly jealous) that Collinear's Dean Rudolph was there to officiate.

  What a week! Attending LA Tech Week gave the Collinear Group team a firsthand look at how the tech ecosystem is evolving especially in the defense, aerospace and dual-use sectors. A few key take-aways: The “meet the aerospace & defense community” sessions confirmed that Southern California is rapidly becoming a hub for hardware, robotics and dual-use innovation. Events like I2A Expo (focused on space/defense) reminded us how serious the government-industry nexus is becoming for startups that can solve real-world missions. With talent, capital and institutional support steadily shifting toward this space, the defense tech community isn’t just promising—it’s ready for scale. At Collinear we believe that founders solving national-security and industrial-technology problems have a unique opportunity. The challenge? Dual-use startups must be as agile commercially as they are technically precise—and that’s where we step in.   Grateful to take a moment to recognize Michael Bauer and the Collinear Group. Michael’s contributions have been instrumental in setting us on a strong path toward developing DO-178 compliant certified software—not just within our organization, but across our broader ecosystem. Over the last two years, having dedicated and capable partners like Michael has made all the difference. His expertise, collaboration, and commitment truly stand out. We have together split many hairs to get to the bottom of some core issues. Often misunderstood, over simplified. We had to agree to disagree so many times and yet came together with solutions for every single complex problem we faced together. We have much to achieve and much more to accomplish in coming days.
