AngelofHope Hello people, I am soon starting to paint some Khornate models. I don't want to use pure red (be it light or dark), since I dont really like striking colors. So, I thought I could give them a dark brownish/dark reddish color, with a dark bony trim. For the color of dried blood, I see that Valejo's Burned Cadmium (black red) is good as a basecoat, and then a highlight of Cadmium Red should finish the job. However, it's kinda hard to come across those colors in my local hobby store. Are there any combinations of GW colors that can match the effect? #1 · Nov 22, 2011 Hello people, I am soon starting to paint some Khornate models. Hope this helps in some way, shape of form. Typhon. #3 · Nov 22, 2011 As typhon said but I would switch the Chaos Black with Scorched Brown, then just follow the steps above. #4 · Nov 22, 2011 Maybe a 1:1:1 Chaos Black, Scorched Brown and Scab Red? #5 · Nov 22, 2011 Dried blood is more a brown color with a tinge of yellow to it. On cloth dried blood is the same shade of brown as the brown used on the US Army Desert Combat Uniform (DCU). #6 · Nov 22, 2011 if you want to darken red, use dark angles green instead of black. but be warned it goes a long way, so be careful on how much you add.
