[Re]search has failed to bring up such an issue. Apparently coloring colored wool doesn't work. Haven't tested this out for actual colors (white is technically not a color) yet. Black Wool+Bonestuffs=/=white wool? But white wool+Bonestuffs==White wool? Something I've missed? (FYI, the wool texture is a wip, which is why its blank) And no, this page doesn't have any info on it either Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

this is correct. the reason why you cant dye the black wool is because its already black. you can use bonemeal on regular wool but bonemeal is a white dye, regular wool is already white so there is no perceptible difference. if you want to make gray/light gray wool you must make the corresponding dye FIRST with ink/bonemeal and THEN use THAT dye on a regular wool block. you cannot dye any wool which already has a prefix to it, like "black". Damn black sheep. Might be a good idea to add this to the wiki to prevent further topics on this. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

Even if you can't dye black wool, you CAN dye black sheep any color and then punch their wool off. I was doing this successfully to get enough blue wool for a castle tower roof. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

punching wool off is the most efficient way to do it anyways. I mean, worst case scenario, you get the same amount as if you had dyed the blocks by hand. Best case, you have 3 times that amount of colored wool. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack Do what you can with what you have, where you are. -TR
