coming
Correct spelling, explanation: the word has its origins in the verb come (to move, travel, get somewhere) and the suffix -ing used to create an adjective or noun out of a verb. When we add an i to a word ending with e we omit the e in the spelling, therefore come + -ing is coming.
Definition of coming:1. adjective, happening very soonParty coming this Saturday is going to be amazing!2. noun, arrivalComing here was not a good idea.
Idioms and phrases with coming:→ coming or going, means being in situation when you are confused and don’t know what to do next, especially when you are overwhelmed by too much work: Do you want to have lunch with me today? – Forget it, I’m so busy at work that I don’t know if I’m coming or going.→ everything is coming up roses, we use this expression when everything in our life lines up to our expectations or we are pleasantly surprised and satisfied: First, I met this amazing guy, now got the perfect job… everything is really coming up roses.→ coming out of one’s ears – to have great amount of something, sometimes too much: At first, I couldn’t find any job, but now, the offers are literally coming out of my ears!
comming
Incorrect spelling, explanation: there is only one m in a basic verb (come), so adding one more is the wrong spelling, and the only correct form is coming. Please never use the form comming as it is incorrect.

Good job excellent.
Love
Thank you.
I was taught, in school, that a long vowel sound gets one consonant while a short vowel sound has a double consonant. So if you’re correct about it only having one m, then why does we all pronounce it with a short vowel sound? Either the correct spelling is wrong or the pronunciation is wrong. Of course if there is a silent e ant the end than come should have a long vowel sound like like the way we say “comb” which must also be wrong since there is no vowel used to make it a long vowel sound and no one ever pronounces the b.
Thx
