Mar 26, 2014 199 3 18,695 I understand that we are not allowed to ask for game CD keys and would not do so. I have the game and key now. I, however, have been purchasing some games for so long that are now out of production, I would like to save an install-able copy on flash drive for myself. There are only so many copies of the game out there and once they are gone we are stuck like chuck without anyway to get a new copy. If this is not allowed please forgive me and it will not be mentioned again, but if not any help would be most appreciated. Solution martinch : Alternatively, if the game is on GOG/Steam, you may find you can redeem your retail key for a digital copy free-of-charge. i always forget this little bit. nice reminder. often you can exchange it for the steam version if one exists. which is a rather nice option since it stays in your library with no need to keep install files. Mar 21, 2014 838 26 19,640 You may well have the legal right to make a backup copy (either through the EULA or by local law - e.g. the Copyright [Computer Program] Regulations 1992) - however, this is generally precluded if it would involve breaking any copy-protection systems. Alternatively, if the game is on GOG/Steam, you may find you can redeem your retail key for a digital copy free-of-charge. Upvote 0 Downvote Math Geek
