Description

Millions of years ago when earth’s crust was being formed, gas pockets and cavities formed in relatively low temperature, volatile-rich magma. Later, after the magma hardened into rock, high temperature fluids filled these gas pockets, depositing minerals and causing crystals to form unobstructed during their growth.

Crack-Open Geode

Many of these geodes have hollow centers with crystals. Take a chance! You might be lucky.

Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m Adults: $10.00
Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Seniors (65+): $8.00
Monday Closed Students, Teens & Children 7-12: $5.00
Children 6 and Under: Free
The Museum is closed on major holidays. Click here for Holiday Hours. Wednesdays are Free Admission Days sponsored by RBC Wealth Management.
