I like this idea... Nightara, the point for the suggestion isn't to create a mode, but to make it Part of the game... Mods should be used for things that alter gameplay. The idea for mossy cobblestone crafting is just adding another craft recipe which honestly should of been there! I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA! I also think we should get more building block types! I don't like this. Some things have to be more rare in the game. You can't just craft everything. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack Texture Packs Are Awesome! [Cinematic Video]- The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Makes more sense, I think, to let Mossy Cobblestone "spread" like grass—probably not very quickly. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Tree Puncher

i know some people like to have these items rare but to me they are sometimes too rare. For example i found my strong hold on my map and it was very small and barely gave me any mossy stone i could work with. I wanted to play this map as vanilla and see if i could be just as creative. But due to lack of mossy stone my projest ended. plus this would give a crafting recipe that used vines in it and i still think you should work for these items Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Obsidian Miner

The problem with Moss Cobble or Moss Stone Brick spreading it's moss nearby is then it gets on stuff you don't want to be mossy. But having it craft able makes it too easy to obtain as well. I suggest a hybrid; vines growing over stone brick or cobble will have one random chance to turn it into a mossy variant. That way people who wish to obtain these materials have to work at it and at the same time there is low-to-no chance of it occurring naturally. i like this idea better. spreading is good but the problem is contamination and crafting can be too easy. i like to work for my stuff and this would be a good way of doing it. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Carpenter

I think you should be able to craft it because it's got no real purpose apart from decorating. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Coal Miner

I support being able to craft most blocks in the game. I've also came up with some recipes! Moss Stone:- Iron Miner

OT: No, some blocks need to be rare. I'm sorry, but mossy stone brick, cracked stone brick, and mossy cobblestone are all supposed to be rare blocks, and for decoration puposes. In a legit survival server, people would be amazed that you have mossy stone brick. If this was implemented, people would not care at all. So, no, some things need to be somewhat rare. I'm not in favor of this idea, I think it would make it far too easy to get those blocks. Since dungeons were initially introduced, people have coveted them for the mossy cobble in them. It's good for a game to have rare, nonrenewable objects for people to hunt. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack Quote me to be sure to get a response!- Void Walker

I do not support this idea. Using vines makes it way too easy to get mossy cobblestone. There's a much more balanced way. First, let's refer to mossy cobblestone and mossy stone bricks as "mossy blocks". In order for a block to grow moss, it must meet the following conditions: 1. It must be a cobblestone block or a cracked stone brick block. 2. It must be directly touching a mossy block. Corners don't count! Only the six faces count. 3. It must be directly touching a water block. Again, corners don't count. 4. It must be directly touching an air block. Again, corners dont' count. 5. Every non-solid block around it must have a light level of 7 or lower. In addition, every light-emitting block around it must have a light level of 7 or lower. If these conditions are met, then moss will grow very slowly. This way, you must find a dungeon or stronghold before you duplicate these blocks. It's possible; I've done it in my mod. I don't like this idea, simply because obtaining this rare block (legitimacy intended) should be a reward for the work you put into finding it. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Lapis Lazuli Collector

I believe that mossy cobble and stone bricks(cracked as well) are meant to be rewards for finding either dungeons or strongholds. Certain resources need to be rare and nonrenewable. It keeps both balance and interest in the game. This idea has also been suggested a many number of times. No support from me.- Ghast Hunter

I'm torn. I feel that we should be able to craft this, but at the same time building with mossy cobble is like a trophy. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack The Internet is a big place, friend. I've been places you've n͍̺e̩v̦e̦̰͍͓̩ͅr̜̭̝̬̬͉̤̬ ͙ịm̖͇a͍͇̤͙̥g̤̘i͔͖̤̼̪̬n͖͔̳̬̯e̩̘ḓ͈͔̠̙͇̼̯.͎- Diamond Miner

This is pointlessly over complicated Yeah this would work, thought instead of 8 vines I think 4 would be more appropriate. And you should get the pick back (with some damage maybe?) after you fished the recipe, kinda how you get your bucket back when you make a cake. mmmhh I can't think of a decent recipe for that other cool brick block, the kinda circle-ish 1. I love that block. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack- Void Walker

It's not overcomplicated. All you need to do is think air, water, and darkness. Is that simple enough? Crafting mossy stone with vines would dramatically devalue it. Dungeons and strongholds aren't that easy to find; vines are much easier to find.
