This Genshin Impact guide contains information on how to defeat the boss, Cryo Hypostasis located in Dragonspine. The Cryo Hypostasis is the Cryo version of the hypostases that exists throughout the overworld. In addition, this guide will also provide several tips and tricks that will help you take down the Cryo Hypostasis, as well as the rewards on offer.

Cryo Hypostasis happens to be in Dragonspine so you have the cold weather to think about. Luckily, there are torches near the edge of Cryo Hypostasis' battlefield that you can activate to give you heat.

Cryo Hypostasis Location

Cryo Hypostasis is a world boss in Dragonspine and can only be accessed after doing The "In The Mountains" world quest.

How to Defeat Cryo Hypostasis

Cryo Hypostasis shares their move set with some of the hypostasis already in the game. However, the main thing that makes this fight hard is the sheer cold that you're going to deal with as the fight is happening. Because of that, it's advised that you activate one torch near the wall and stay there to keep yourself warm. Just like other hypostases, it has immunity against the same element so don't use cryo when fighting it.

Phase One

Cryo Hypostasis' first phase should be met with caution as they can hit really hard if you messed up a dodge and don't have a shield. Most of their moves can be dodged or tanked, but the move to be wary of is its spinning move where it charges towards you.

Remember the tip about activating a torch near the wall? That one will come into play as if the hypostasis hits a wall, it immediately ends that attack and exposes its core for you to deal damage.

Cryo Hypostasis also has a lot of range attacks that can be avoided by timing your dodge or having a shield that can tank everything. Keep your stamina in check if you're planning on going the dodging route.

After you deal enough damage, Cryo Hypostasis will enter a second phase just like the other hypostases.

Phase Two

The second phase is where you'd use charged attacks. Cryo Hypostasis will summon frostfruits, these look like big snowballs and your job is to hit it back to it with a charged attack. Make sure to aim it back at it as it's possible to miss the return.

Cryo Hypostasis will regenerate its HP and hit you with projectiles while you're trying to shoot frostfruits back to it so make sure not to stay in one place for too long or just hit the fruit fast enough for you to be able to dodge. After you break the shield from shooting frostfruits, Cryo Hypostasis' core will be exposed so head over there and hit it with all you can! If you managed to drain its HP after this, the fight will end. If not, go back to the first phase and rinse and repeat.
