The Cultivator can be used on a patch of land to ready it for planting seeds, as well as to plant trees.
With the Grass mode, the player can regrow grass on patches of dirt, regrow lily pads on water, create sand on the shoreline and regrow cattails in certain areas around the shore.
Use of cultivator does use stamina, making Hildir's clothing useful for managing large farms.

Availability[]
Made at a Forge. It becomes available to craft once the player has obtained Bronze and Corewood.
General information[]
The cultivator is a farming tool for tilling soil, planting seeds, and restoring damaged environments.
Crops will display a status next to their name when planted until they are fully grown. The "Healthy" status means the plant is growing. All food crops need cultivated soil.
Crops will not grow if any of the three conditions are met:
- Wrong biome
- Not enough space
- Not enough sunlight
Some crops can only be planted in certain biome requirements. Planting a crop in the wrong environment will display the "Can't grow in this environment" status.
Most crops require a 1x1 area of free space around them. Other crops, structures, or objects placed within this space will prevent the plant from growing. This is true even for rocks that have been covered by the terrain. Any objects within this free space will cause the "Needs more room to grow" status.
Crops require unobstructed view of the sky. Any structures built over a crop will cause the "Needs an open sky" status, regardless of how high the structure is above the crop.
Unique among crops - Vineberry vines need to be 1 away from a flat built wall to climb. It can cross over Window or door openings, but any overhang or break in the wall will stop its growth. Fences and decorative panels count as walls for purpose of trellising. Vineberries needs a greater spacing between plants.
Trees are also planted with a cultivator. Needs an area cleared of trees, stumps, and large rocks but does not require cultivated ground.
Available Crops[]
Each usage of the cultivator, whether to plant a crop or to change the terrain, uses 1 durability.

- ↑ Crops which do not tolerate heat cannot grow in the Ashlands except if protected by an active Shield generator.
- ↑ Crops which do not tolerate cold cannot grow in the Mountain or the Deep North except if protected by an active Shield generator.
- ↑ Required space is the minimum spacing at which you can safely plant another of a given crop. Each crop actually requires a radius of half of this size to be free from obstacles to grow, but one crop's radius cannot overlap another's, so the spacing given here is the minimum safe spacing for planting crops of that type in a line or grid.
- ↑ Vineberry cluster cannot grow in the Mountain or the Deep North even if protected by an active Shield generator.
