Curling Plastic Ribbons
Learn how to curl plastic gift ribbons. Make curly ribbons to decorate your craft projects or use them to accent a gift-wrapped present.

Supplies Needed
- Plastic gift ribbons, curling ribbons or poly ribbons
- Scissors
STEPS
1Cut a length of ribbon.
Cut a length of plastic gift ribbon, curling ribbon or poly ribbon.
2Position a scissors' blade.
Hold one end of the ribbon with one hand. Using your other hand, place a scissors' blade under the ribbon, about 1-2 inches from the end of the ribbon. Support the blade firmly with your index finger under the blade and your thumb on top of the ribbon.
3Move the blade.
With one hand still holding the end of the ribbon and the other hand holding the blade against the ribbon, slowly move the blade through the length of the ribbon until you reach the ribbon's opposite end.
4Check out the curls.
Release the ribbon to reveal the curls.
5Create smaller curls.
If you want to make finer or smaller curls, cut two to three slits on one end of a ribbon to create fringes.
6Split the fringes.
Split the fringes apart, stopping 1-2 inches before reaching the other end.
7Curl each fringe.
Curl each fringe as you did in Steps 2 and 3.
8Check out the curls.
Check out the small multiple curls.
9Use the curly ribbons.
Use the curly ribbons for your craft projects or use them to accent a gift-wrapped present.
