Hennig was found dead in his hotel room on February 10, 2003 in Tampa Bay.

How Did Curt Hennig Die?

The official cause of death was ruled as acute cocaine intoxication according to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office. His father (former wrestler: Larry ‘the Axe’ Hennig) has said that steroids and painkillers might have contributed to his passing.

How Old Was Curt Hennig When He Died?

44 years old (March 28, 1958 – February 10, 2003).

Who Did He Leave Behind? 

His wife: Leonice and their 4 children – Joseph (WWE star Curtis Axel), Amy, Kaite, and Hank.

His grave is located in New Hope, Minnesota.

Legacy: 

He was inducted into the 2007 WWE Hall of Fame class. His son: Curtis Axel uses the ring name as a tribute to Mr Perfect and his Grandfather: Larry ‘the Axe’ Hennig.
