I wanted to like this. I truly did. Turning this into a musical was not in its favor. Roxanne is lovely and perfectly cast. Cyrano shows up 15 minutes in and starts singing immediately and I wonder “what fresh hell is this?” The sets are lovely and I was hoping it would turn around. It did not. It’s terrible but done boldly, like poor Montfleury.
