Here at the DQ® system, we believe that HAPPY TASTES GOOD®. Our first location opened in Joliet, Illinois, 80 years ago. Since then we’ve grown to more than 7,000 DQ® locations in the U.S., Canada and 22 other countries. Our restaurants offer a variety of sweet treats and crave-worthy eats that hold a special place in the hearts and minds of fans of all ages, including our signature BLIZZARD® Treat.   A milestone moment for the DQ brand in the Bahamas. Last month, franchise partner Family Fun Treats Ltd. opened the first DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in the Bahamas, bringing both our hot food and DQ treat menu to the market for the first time. This franchise owner operates six DQ restaurants in Nassau, and this location was converted from a treat-only restaurant to now serve favorites like burgers, chicken strips and iconic DQ treats. Opening our first restaurant in the Bahamas that serves both hot food and treats supports our broader strategy of bringing hot food offerings to more international markets around the world. Congratulations to the Family Fun Treats team on the grand opening.

  With views like this, how could you not stop and smile? One of our newest DQ restaurants in Canada recently opened in Blairmore, Alberta. All told, 7 new DQ restaurants opened in Canada last quarter! So, here's to more hot foods, sweet treats and mountain views.

  How do we keep our corporate employees close to the heart of the DQ experience? They spend the day at one of our corporate-owned (Edina or Richfield, Minn.) DQ restaurants where they learn how to craft DQ treats, make DQ chicken strips and deliver exceptional guest experiences at the front counter. Last month Senior Human Resources Specialist, Molly H., had this opportunity and said: "Let me tell you, our iconic, trademarked DQ curl is NO joke to master. This Strawberry Sundae pictured was my proudest creation — after several failed attempts." P.S., Molly, we think your sundae looks great!
