Three years after entering the NBA, point guard Damian Lillard can add "college graduate" to his résumé.

The All-Star Trail Blazers point guard graduated from Weber State University on Friday with a bachelor of science degree in professional sales. He spoke briefly to his fellow graduates before addressing the media.

"I'm happy that we finally go to this point," Lillard said, via The Salt Lake Tribune . "Anything you start, you should want to finish, but especially with education. It probably goes a lot further than people are willing to say."

At his side were his mother, Gina Houston, and Weber State basketball coach Randy Rahe.

"I don't know how to explain how happy I am about Damian's graduation," Houston said. "I told coach Rahe I don't really care about basketball. I want him to have a degree."

When Lillard was drafted by the Trail Blazers in 2012, he only had six credits left to get his degree. He started going back to school last summer and enrolled in online classes.

Even though the main reason he returned to school was to please he mother, Lillard forgot to tell her when he earned his remaining credits. However, she was on hand Friday with Rahe, his agent and some sales professors to watch Lillard get his diploma.
