Introduction
Dan Bilzerian is an American gambler and internet personality with an estimated net worth of $200 Million.
Financial Issues
Bilzerian has often been entangled in financial issues, and in 2019, his company Ignite International Brands reported a net loss of roughly $50 million, an amount far greater than the $9.6 million the company generated. It was reported that the losses were not from investments in the business but instead from the spending associated with Bilzerian’s brand as the King of Instagram. Reports suggest that over $22 million was spent on marketing and promotion, including high-profile parties at luxury venues, first-class travel, and collaborations with supermodels.
Bilzerian also used company money to fund a lavish lifestyle, including a $200,000-a-month rented mansion, expensive private yacht charters, extravagant photo shoots, and even collectible toys and paintball equipment. However, the money was not used to grow the company, but rather to maintain Bilzerian’s social media image as a high-rolling, multi-millionaire. As of now, Bilzerian is in an ongoing civil lawsuit against Ignite International Brands.
Tax Issues
In late 2024, federal prosecutors began an investigation into Bilzerian’s long-term accountant, Scott Rohleder, as to whether he had submitted false tax returns on Bilzerian’s behalf. It appeared that between 2018 and 2020, Rohleder had allegedly misrepresented the amount of money earned from Bilzerian’s property sales and investments as being far lower than it was. Rohleder had also described Bilzerian’s Las Vegas mansion as a rental property so that he could claim landlord tax deductions. His actions had resulted in a reduced personal tax bill for Bilzerian of around $1.54 million during that period.
Concerning spending, not only did Bilzerian’s company fund his lavish lifestyle, but accounting records didn’t clearly show what was considered personal spending. Instead, these costs were often recorded as business expenses or were simply unclear, making it appear as though money was spent on the business. More tax issues arose from December 2018 to September 2024 regarding how Bilzerian and his family moved money around using numerous companies, often referred to as shell companies.
Instead of keeping personal money and business sales separate and easy to track, the money flowed through different companies, making it difficult for authorities, such as the IRS, to determine who owned what and where the money went. To make things even more confusing, on some official government forms, Bilzerian’s home address was listed as a hangar at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, rather than an actual residence. This type of move makes it difficult to determine where Bilzerian was living, and it can be viewed as a potential red flag for tax evasion.
As of yet, Bilzerian has not been charged with tax offenses; however, his accountant has been formally accused of several crimes, including conspiring to defraud the United States and preparing false tax returns.
Real Estate
In June 2018, Dan Bilzerian acquired an enormous 38,389-square-foot, seven-bedroom, 12.5-bathroom mansion in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to public records, the property was initially listed for $11.8 million, but was sold to Bilzerian for just $8.5 million.
The home features almost every type of amenity anybody could ever wish for, including a custom-built home theatre with a concession stand, a home gym, a poker room, an indoor basketball court, and a trampoline room with a rock climbing wall. In August 2024, Bilzerian returned the property to the market, seeking $25 million. In January 2025, he slashed the price to $19.9 million. Although the listing has since been removed, there’s no confirmed sale record.
