How to Do a Kip Up in your Hip Hop routines:

If you are a beginner, make sure you are on a soft surface like carpet or a mat.

Start from a standing position. Sit and roll back onto your neck/upper back. Make sure you get all the way up into a candlestick.

To do a candlestick, you roll back onto your neck/upper back and put your hands flat on the ground. Your feet will point straight up. Then roll down onto your back and stand up. Do that a few times for practice.

Next, when you are in a candlestick, think of yourself as a cannon ball shooting out of a cannon! Make sure you are pushing with your arms.

Kick your heels straight up into the air, and then in an arch (or rainbow) your body to stand up. Push your arms up and then down. Your head is the last thing to come around.

Make sure that your hands are on the ground! If you feel yourself falling, squeeze your legs, butt, and abs.
