i have many words and genuine takes on this song. i have had every lyric memorized for so, so so long now. i think the reason this song had and still has such a strong hold on me is because of one of the many lyrics i relate to. "repeat to yourself that they're not really gone." i have lost a best friend due to suicide years back and this is what i used to repeat to myself everyday for at least a year after the incident before finally excepting what had truly happened. couldn't sleep, wouldn't get up, not even to shower. could not do basic hygiene. (yuck, i know) then, after that silly little era, i got into reallllly bad drugs. and close to near the end of the song, "but most importantly drown every single one of your feelings in old stolen rum, learn to love the taste of it dripping down your throat find comfort in the warmth coming from your stomach, you’re drinking bottled love now" is extremely relatable for me! i turned to drugs to feel loved, or maybe not to feel anything at all! anywho, let me stop venting. i love this song and if i see anyone else say they love this song, i hope you are okay and go very far in life. its never the end. don't give up.
