'Daredevil,' 'Luke Cage,' Other Marvel Shows Leaving Netflix

Netflix's Marvel shows — including "Daredevil" and "Luke Cage" — will leave the service at the end of the month.
The titles will be leaving Netflix after February 28, as the rights have reverted back to Marvel's parent company Disney, a person with direct knowledge confirmed to Insider.
A warning on the Netflix series pages state that the "last day to watch" is on February 28.
The shows include:
- "Daredevil"
- "Jessica Jones"
- "Luke Cage"
- "Iron Fist"
- "The Punisher"
- "The Defenders"
The first of Netflix's Marvel series, "Daredevil," premiered in 2015. But by 2019, Netflix had canceled all of them.
Netflix's original Marvel series were a product of Marvel's TV division, which was folded into the Marvel Studios film unit in late 2019 as Disney was preparing to launch its own streaming platform, Disney+, that November. Disney had also ended a licensing deal with Netflix.
It put Marvel's TV plans under the supervision of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who had been named Marvel's creative chief in October of 2019.
Since then, Disney+ has launched several Marvel Studios TV shows that tie directly into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. The studio has also planted the seeds for the Netflix shows to be folded more directly into the MCU.
The actor Charlie Cox returned to briefly play Matthew Murdock/Daredevil in "Spider-Man: No Way Home." And Vincent D'Onofrio reprised his "Daredevil" role of the villain Kingpin in Disney+'s "Hawkeye."
Disney declined to comment on its streaming plans for the shows.
