Dark mode

If you're viewing TikTok in a low-light setting, you may want to optimize the way it looks. Turning on dark mode will give the app a dark background with light text. Dark mode doesn't change the way videos look on TikTok.

Dark mode in the TikTok app

To turn dark mode on or off:1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.2. Tap the Menu button at the top.3. Tap Settings and privacy.4. Tap Display.5. Select Dark to turn on dark mode or Light to turn off dark mode. You can also match your device's appearance settings with the TikTok app. The Display setting on the TikTok app will automatically change to match your device settings.

To turn device matching for dark mode on or off:1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.2. Tap the Menu button at the top to go to your settings.3. Tap Settings and privacy.4. Tap Display.5. Turn the Use device settings on or off.

Dark mode for TikTok on your computer

For TikTok on your computer, you can turn on dark mode in the following areas:• For You feed• Following feed• Search results• Profile• Hashtag results• Sounds page• Video page

To turn dark mode on or off when you're logged in:1. Select your profile picture at the top.2. Turn Dark mode on or off.

To turn dark mode on or off when you're not logged in:1. Select the More options button at the top. 2. Turn the Dark mode setting on or off.
