He relocates to a different place after both of the first 2 times you meet him. You will meet Gavlan in No Man's Wharf, Harvest Valley and finally in Doors of Pharros(permanent) He's only temporarily in the first 2 areas, he will despawn if you die or use a bonfire after you talked to him Overall, I only earned like maybe 100k souls from selling him stuff in the first 2 areas.
