Appearance[]

In Diamond & Pearl, as well as their respective remakes, Dawn wears a black V-neck tank top with a white shirt under it and a short pink mini skirt. On her head, she wears a white beanie with a pink Poké Ball print on it. She also wears yellow hair clips that hold up her hair in front. On her feet, she wears pink knee-high boots with black socks underneath. She also wears a long red scarf.

In Platinum, she wears a long red sweater dress with pink buttons, a thick white scarf and pink boots with white buttons, as well as white socks underneath her boots (replacing the black ones in Diamond & Pearl). Her hair clips are also pink, replacing the yellow hair clips in Diamond & Pearl. Her beanie is almost identical to the one she wears in Diamond & Pearl, but is flipped horizontally.

In the Games[]

As the Player[]

She lives in Twinleaf Town with her mother, Johanna, and her best friend and rival, Barry. In Diamond and Pearl, as well as their remakes, she receives her first Pokémon in Lake Verity after she and Barry are attacked by wild Starly. In Platinum, she receives her first Pokémon on Route 201 instead of Lake Verity and she battles Barry after Prof. Rowan goes back to Sandgem Town with his assistant, Lucas. She also meets Looker, an officer of the International Police who looks after Team Galactic to stop them. In Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, she has to stop Team Galactic and Cyrus from destroying the entire universe.

As NPC[]

When she is not chosen as the player, she is Professor Rowan's assistant. She lives in Sandgem Town with her father, who is also one of Professor Rowan's assistants, her little sister, and her grandfather. She shows Lucas, the player, the Pokémon Center and the PokeMart and teaches him how to catch a Pokémon.

In the Anime[]

Main article: Dawn (Pokémon the Series)

Dawn has a counterpart in the anime who shares her name. Like the former when selected by the player, Dawn's anime counterpart also lives in Twinleaf Town. She chose Piplup as her starter Pokémon and was one of Ash Ketchum's former traveling companions.

In the Manga[]

Main article: Platinum Berlitz

Dawn's manga counterpart is Platinum Berlitz. Like the former as an NPC, she lives in Sandgem Town, and is a member of the wealthy Berlitz family. She had befriended Diamond and Pearl, two boys from Twinleaf Town who ended up being her bodyguards.
