Dead By Daylight: Tips For Playing As Legion - TheGamer

Sprinting angrily around a Trial in Dead By Daylight looking like something out of The Purge, Legion is all about full-frontal aggression and rapid rundown tactics. They’re a great pick for players that are looking for something simple that’s all about doing damage.

According to the in-game lore, Legion is one of four young hooligans that became lost in the fog after committing a murder. Though you don’t play as all of them in a Trial, you can at least pretend you’re a different one from the party by changing their character skin to one of the four. Gameplay-wise though they’re a great pick for new players as they have one simple ability that boils doing to moving very quickly and doing big stabs. If you want to make the most of this fast-moving psychopath, then here are a few tips for playing as Legion in Dead By Daylight.
10 How Does Legion Work?
Possibly one of the simplest Killers to pick up and play, Legion has just one ability called Feral Frenzy and it’s extremely easy to use. It’s bound to a power gauge that fills over time and once activated Legion goes into an unstoppable and deadly rage that boosts movement speed dramatically, allows you to vault pallets and turns your basic melee into an insanely strong knife swing.
Any Survivors that this connects with are put into the Deep Wound state which prevents them from performing any action until they heal as well as refilling your power bar to let you get off another stab on a nearby victim. It also briefly reveals the aura of Survivors that haven't been sliced up yet and if used right, it is possible to chain this ability multiple times with pro Legion players using it to absolutely decimate the Survivor team in no time at all.
9 Be Careful With Your Swings
Whilst your goal at all times should be to chase people and be stab happy, you should still keep an eye on who’s been carved up and who hasn’t. It may seem like a minor thing, but if you don’t follow who’s been wounded or not you could miss out on plenty of easy wins.
Hitting someone during a Feral Frenzy that’s already the Deep Wound state will instantly deplete the power bar, and sometimes Survivors will use this against you, baiting attacks away from teammates in the heat of the moment. It’s a sneaky tactic other players will often use as it deters you from spamming Feral Frenzy too much.
8 Get Into Chases Often
Legion works best when they’re on the hunt. Their abilities are focused on being close and doing damage, so keep up that pressure by aggressively patrolling the map looking for targets to cut apart.
Their base movement speed is 115 percent, but when a frenzy is active it jumps to 125 allowing you to close the gap on loners or groups in seconds. Plus, their ability to vault pallets hard counters the loop defence that a lot of players like to pull when they’re in trouble and seeing that defence crumble in a chase can also be a nice hit to their morale.
7 Don’t Be So Hasty To Dump Their Perks
Usually, with Killers in Dead By Daylight, the starting Perks are not always the best. Some monsters have a really strong starting kit, whilst others are woefully underpowered and worth trading in when you have the chance. With Legion, their starting build is pretty useful and worth using long after maxing them out.

Discordance, for example, highlights generators with two or more Survivors on them and makes finding new targets much easier. Whilst Mad Grit removes cooldowns on missed attacks whilst carrying another player and it pauses their wriggling, turning Legion into a player hooking machine. Finally, Iron Maiden exposes Survivors that exit lockers, making it seem like there are no places left to hide when facing this knife-carrying psychopath. Legions Perks leans heavily into their aggressive playstyle, so don’t be so quick to get rid of them after you hit their level cap.
6 The Best Teachable Perks For Legion
If you still feel like you’re not getting a lot of use out of Legions Perks, then there are some Teachable Perks that work well with them. There are some pretty powerful passives in Dead By Daylight that allow for a lot of unique build combinations, but here are three buffs worth bringing.
Sloppy Butcher synergises well with them as it makes basic attacks inflict Haemorrhage and Mangled debuffs, combine this with Whispers which broadcasts ethereal murmuring when a Survivor is within 32 metres and you have a heavy-hitting hunter on your hands. Finally, bring along Surveillance, which highlights interrupted generator regression and boosts repair noises by 8 metres to become an omniscient monster with massive map awareness.
5 The Best Add-ons For Legion
Similar to the Killer themselves, the add-ons for Legion are pretty simple and don’t need too much critical thought when you’re playing around with different load-outs. The majority of their consumable passives are the standard staple of stat boosts to movement speed, frenzy duration and some extra status effects for successful hits, so it’s pretty easy to make a strong slasher without too much tinkering.
But, if you want to be an absolutely unstoppable monster, then you definitely want to bring along their top tier add-ons of Fuming Mix Tape and Iridescent Button. The tape changes the display aura of repair progression for generators with the colour changing depending on how far along they are. Whilst the button broadcasts your Terror Radius across the entire map, making you impossible to hear coming and any pallets that are vaulted over will immediately break, seriously knee-capping the escape routes for Survivors. They’re the strongest Perks in their arsenal outside of stat boosts and are definitely worth bringing along.
4 Beware Baiting
One thing you really need to be careful of when playing as Legion is Survivors trying to bait you. With how aggressive this Killer is and how much of a pain they can be to other players, there are often going to be heroes that sacrifice themselves for the greater good of the team.
If you see a Survivor suddenly run towards you there’s a chance they’re planning to cancel your Feral Frenzy if they're already injured, or they could have the Dead Hard Perk which will cause you to miss and thus end your rampage. Your potential victims could also have passives that buff chases and looping, so be aware of anyone you see that tries to draw your attention on purpose.
3 Don’t Waste Time
Not only is this a universal tip for all Killers, but it’s vitally important to get this in your head when playing as Legion. The more time you waste in a Trial, the easier it is for Survivors to repair generators and escape.

Avoid going around loops for too long and try to hug near the centre of the map as that’s where people are more prone to be.
2 Pick On The Weakest Players First
Although not the best thing to do in terms of Dead By Daylight etiquette, sometimes taking down the new players first can make Trials substantially easier for you, especially if you’re new yourself. Higher-level players tend to have the perfect anti-Killer loadout, so if you’re just starting off with Legion then try to go for the weakest in the herd whenever you can.
Lower level players will also be stuck with their basic Survivor Perks, and if you know what those are then you’ll be able to overwhelm them easily. Weaker players might also not know the map or the best escape routes to use in a chase. It’s not the nicest tactic, but it does work.
1 Legions Perfect For Farming Bloodpoints
There are a number of different currencies in Dead By Daylight and Bloodpoints are arguably one of the most useful. They’re used for general character progression as they’re spent on unlockables in the Bloodweb and they can be earned by both Killers and Survivors for performing actions in a Trial.
Legion, it turns out, is extremely good at farming Bloodpoints and all it takes is the right Perk loadout. The build in question involves using Distressing, which lets you earn up to 8000 Deviousness points every game, Beast of Prey which gives 50 percent more Hunter Points and Barbecue And Chill, which grants 25 percent more points for hooking a Survivor the first time as well as revealing the auras of more victims. With this loadout, you’ll be drowning in currency in no time at all.
