Deadpool & Wolverine has finally landed in cinemas, ending a really long wait for the MCU movie.
The likes of Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy have been busy on the global press tour ahead of the movie's release. They managed to keep quiet about the majority of Deadpool 3's secrets though.
We know some things from the marketing to date, such as surprise X-Men returns, a different Wolverine, whether or not to expect Taylor Swift and more.
Don't worry if you're not up-to-date on the MCU or X-Men series as Levy has said the movie doesn't require any "homework", noting: "This movie is built for entertainment, with no obligation to come prepared with prior research."
But you might still want to do some research on the new movie before watching it, so we're here to help with everything you need to know about Deadpool 3.

Deadpool 3 release date: When will Deadpool and Wolverine be released?
Deadpool 3 is now out in cinemas following its UK release on July 25 and US release on July 26.
Originally, the movie was scheduled to hit cinemas on September 6, 2024, before it was pushed back to November 8, 2024, and suddenly moved forward again six months ahead, before being delayed to its current date.
The movie has also already set a new record based on first-day sales which points to a massive box-office opening. It's currently tracking for a US opening of $160 million which is down on the early projections of $200 million, but still a potential record for an R-rated movie.
The movie wrapped filming in January 2024 and Ryan Reynolds marked the occasion by sharing a crotch shot, naturally, while Hugh Jackman shared a video of him getting a haircut.
The movie initially filmed from May to July 2023, before being shut down by the writers' and actors' strikes in Hollywood.
It then resumed in late November 2023, when the production was hit by set leaks. But you won't be seeing any of those here as we want to keep the surprise.

Deadpool 3 trailer: Watch the Deadpool and Wolverine trailers here!
The first Deadpool 3 trailer arrived during the Super Bowl on February 11, 2024.
It might not feature much of Wolverine beyond his back and his shadow, but we do get a Loki crossover as Wade Wilson is taken to the TVA and plenty of teases of the movie's bloody set pieces.
Check it out below:
The first trailer set a new record with 365 million views in its first 24 hours, breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home's record as the most-viewed trailer of all time.
We'll wait to see whether the second trailer can match – or even surpass – that record. The new trailer landed on April 22, giving us our best look yet at Wolverine in the movie and also the first look at Emma Corrin's villain.
If you missed it above, check it out below:
There have been countless TV spots since, but mostly just using the same footage as in the other trailers.
However, one teaser did officially reveal the return of Tyler Mane as Sabretooth, a cameo that had been spoiled in the set leaks.
Deadpool 3 runtime: How long is Deadpool and Wolverine?
Deadpool 3 has officially been confirmed to run for 127 minutes and 45 seconds, or just over two hours and seven minutes if you prefer.
That runtime makes it the longest Deadpool movie yet, ahead of Deadpool's 108 minutes and Deadpool 2's 119 minutes.
It's nowhere close to being the MCU's longest movie though, which remains Avengers: Endgame's epic 174-minute runtime.

Deadpool 3 age rating: Is Deadpool and Wolverine suitable for children?
It might be a Disney movie now, but Deadpool 3 hasn't seen the Merc with a Mouth be tamed when it comes to outrageous content.
Deadpool & Wolverine has been given an R rating in the US and a 15 certificate in the UK, marking the first-ever MCU movie to be given such an age rating.
In the US, anybody can technically see an R-rated movie in the cinema, but under 17s have to be accompanied by an adult. In the UK, it rules out younger audiences as only those over the age of 15 can go and see the movie at the cinema.
That makes a change from the usual 12A rating that MCU movies have, which would allow anybody to go and see it, with under 12s needing to be accompanied by an adult.

Deadpool 3 post-credits scenes: How many end credits scenes does Deadpool and Wolverine have?
We can confirm that Deadpool & Wolverine has one post-credits scene to stick around for, but there's also a cute montage that plays during the credits.
No spoilers here though, so you'll have to see the movie to find out what it is.

Deadpool 3 cast: Who's going to be in Deadpool and Wolverine?
Well, of course, Ryan Reynolds was always going to be back as Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, and he's got some major company.
Hugh Jackman is making his MCU debut as Wolverine. Since the release of the second trailer, it has been confirmed that this is a different Wolverine to the one we saw in the X-Men series.
That's not exactly a surprise as Reynolds and Jackman have stressed they don't want to ruin the ending of Logan.
There's a pretty exciting new addition to the overall Marvel universe as well, as Emma Corrin appears in the movie as the lead villain.
The second trailer confirmed the rumours that Corrin is playing X-Men supervillain Cassandra Nova. They've taken inspiration from Willy Wonka for the villain role, so make of that what you will.

Succession star Matthew Macfadyen will also be making his MCU debut in Deadpool 3 and the first trailer revealed he's playing a TVA agent, confirmed to be Mr Paradox.
Deadpool 2 introduced us to a range of new heroes in the X-Force team and we now know that Stefan Kapičić is back as Colossus.
The first trailer also revealed the returns of fellow X-Force teammates Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) and Peter (Rob Delaney).
We won't be seeing Domino though, as Zazie Beetz confirmed she will not be returning for the third film.

One character who already cheated death (as long as Deadpool 2's post-credits sequence is canon) in the franchise is Vanessa, Deadpool's girlfriend. Morena Baccarin was confirmed in April 2023 to be returning as Vanessa and she's seen in the first trailer.
Baccarin previously defended Vanessa's lack of screen time in the sequel after fans accused the movie of 'fridging' her.
"I can understand that people felt that way and I certainly was disappointed that I didn't have more to do, because I just loved the part so much," she said.
"But in watching the film and reading the script, it felt like such an emotionally pivotal role in the film and the entire arc of his character in the film is set into motion because of what happens to my character."

The first trailer for Deadpool 3 also revealed the surprise return of Aaron Stanford, reprising his X-Men role as Pyro, while the second trailer revealed the returns of Lady Deathstrike and Azazel. It's not clear who's playing them though.
As mentioned above, Tyler Mane is also back as Sabretooth and we're sure there are plenty of cameos still kept under wraps.
As for why Pyro is back, Levy has said any returns in the movie are a result of the story and not just fan service.
"I'll say we didn't start off with a wish list. From the day we started devising this Deadpool & Wolverine story, we let the story dictate the characters, not the other way around," he noted.
"Aaron and his return as Pyro was an outgrowth of that, and that applies to pretty much all the characters you'll see in the movie."
We still don't know whether Josh Brolin will be back as Cable, but we definitely know that Vinnie Jones isn't making a return as Juggernaut, despite being offered a role.
We were already pretty sure Blind Al would be returning thanks to a tweet between Reynolds and Leslie Uggams, who plays Deadpool's roommate, and it was officially confirmed in March 2023 that Uggams would be back.
The same announcement revealed that Karan Soni is also back as Dopinder for his third Deadpool outing.
And if another MCU crossover is on your wishlist with Charlie Cox dropping by as Daredevil, then stop hoping: Cox ruled out a Deadpool 3 appearance in December 2023. But then again, he would say that, wouldn't he?

We are (probably) getting the return of Jennifer Garner as Elektra though. It was reported in July 2023, but Garner stopped short of confirming it when asked about her comeback in November 2023.
Patrick Stewart has also been teasing a return as Charles Xavier saying that "it has come up", but didn't confirm anything.
One person who might be appearing is Taylor Swift, who has been heavily rumoured to be playing Dazzler. Unsurprisingly, Levy is remaining tight-lipped about the reports.
"I'm going across the board 'no comment' because that's a double whammy," he noted. "That's Taylor-related. And it's MCU-related. I'm no dummy. You're going to have to wait and see."
Reynolds added in late November 2023: "Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26."
According to EW though, Swift is not in the movie, but we don't have too long to wait to find out.

Deadpool 3 plot: What will Deadpool and Wolverine be about?
Even though we've had two trailers and a lot of interviews with the cast and director, we still don't fully know what Deadpool 3 will be about.
A plot tease from co-writer Rhett Reese in June 2022 had us thinking that the third movie will make Deadpool arriving in the MCU part of its story, directly addressing that he's now in a totally different universe than before rather than retconning his MCU status.
The first trailer appeared to confirm this, with Deadpool being taken to the TVA and given a chance to be a "hero among heroes". It suggests that the first two movies still exist, rather than the new film being a complete reboot for the character.

The second trailer then teased that Deadpool needs Wolverine's help to save his world, with Wolverine having experience of worlds being destroyed before. "This Wolverine let down his entire world," Macfadyen's TVA agent says.
Before Jackman's involvement was confirmed, Reynolds had tweeted in January 2021 that the third movie was going to be a Rashomon-style road trip with Deadpool and Wolverine before the Disney-Fox merger.
Reynolds has since revealed this was one of his original pitches to Marvel, but one that Kevin Feige turned down.
"The truth is, I wasn't even sure how to incorporate Deadpool yet," Feige told Empire.
"I was very much thinking about how to bring mutants and the X-Men into [the MCU], and I thought it needed to be more than just playing the hits. But the truth is, Ryan is an idea machine. So he may have pitched that to me, but he also pitched 25 other thoughts and ideas."
Jackman being involved means that the movie isn't your typical threequel. "It's the third Deadpool movie, but it's not Deadpool 3. It's a different thing that's very much Deadpool and Wolverine," director Shawn Levy explained.
"And it's not trying to copycat anything from the first two movies. They were awesome, but this is a two-hander character adventure."
All we really know about the third movie is that, unsurprisingly, Deadpool and Wolverine "hate each other".

"I'm just talking from my perspective, [Logan's] frustrated by him – [he] wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head," Jackman noted. "Unfortunately, he can't be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I'm probably going to punch him in the head a lot."
Could we see other X-Men stars in the movie, too? The Marvels post-credit scene saw Monica Rambeau wake up in a reality that includes Beast (Kelsey Grammer) and Binary, aka Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch).
Will we see more of this world in Deadpool 3? Only a few weeks to wait to find out.
All we really know is that the movie is "not like any MCU movie". "We had no idea it would be this unique moment where people are asking what the MCU means any more," Levy said in June 2024.
"Can it surprise us? Can it break moulds in ways that we don't expect? We certainly hope that this movie is an answer to those questions."
