The Commemorative Penny or Roudel below is commonly known to be fake, I'm told it was possibly made as an extra for an extended family as the original Death Pennies were only issued one per family, I personally think it is still a great work of art and worthy of a place on my site and that Col. John Robert Beech is still worth mentioning over and over again, as are all the Fallen of WW1 and WW2 - Mary COL. ROBERT BEECH C.M.G. D.S.O. Commanding 2/1 Scottish Horse - Died August 1916 A. Osborne The only Osborne I could find on C.W.G.C. with parents from here was: Private William John Osborne; Service Number 75393; Canadian Infantry, 29th Bn.; D.O.D.: 8th October 1915; Age 21; Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery K. 38, Belgium; Additional Info: Son of Thomas Edens Osborne and Margaret Osborne, of 11 Marine Parade, Holywood, Co. Down [UPDATE] yay I got the correct William and his great-niece has been in touch with a photograph and a link to the wonderful 'Barney Niblock' site with more information on William.
