Biography

Pre-Season 2

8 years before season 2's events, Delilah worked as a dancer at a bar, where she met Henderson. She had a poor relationship with her mom, which was worsened by her father passing away. This caused both her to move away and temporarily leave her sister, Ellie, behind. They would reunite several years later.

Season 2

A Fresh Start

Delilah meets with Joe to discuss apartment vacancies. Later, Ellie informs Joe of her other work as a reporter, as she is seen discussing payment from a publicist to not publish a scandalous article about his client. Soon after, Delilah interrupts a conversation between Joe and Ellie, chiding the latter for being late to school and stealing her shirt. Afterwards, she sternly warns Joe to stay away from Ellie.

Just the Tip

Delilah runs into Joe at a house party, telling him that she's chasing a story about Jared Padalecki, and is at the party to find his hairstylist. Delilah brings up Rufus, whom Joe is looking for, but Henderson joins the conversation to Delilah's irritation. Delilah introduces Will to Henderson, and confides to Joe her disgust of the comedian. Angered by Joe's positive perception of him, she walks away and refuses to point out Rufus to him.

Some time later, Joe speaks with Delilah in the laundry room. Delilah apologizes for her behavior towards Joe, and recounts how she ran away from home to get away from her parents, leading her to meeting Henderson at a bar that she used to dance at. She further tells Joe that she had fallen for Henderson's manipulation, despite hearing of rumors that Henderson would keep young girls around. She tells a story where she was roofied by Henderson and assaulted. Joe asks if she ever tried to tell anyone, but she says that no one would believe her. Delilah tells Joe that she knows he is a bad man, but is unsure of what kind of bad he is. As she leaves, the tells Joe to stay away from her and her sister.

What Are Friends For?

Delilah is briefly seen in a flashback telling Joe about her assault by Henderson as he watches his guest-appearance at an improv set. She is also mentioned by Ellie during her confrontation with Joe later that night, where Ellie dismisses many of Delilah's claims about perversion in Hollywood.

Delilah and Ellie argue as she questions Ellie's involvement with Henderson. Ellie accuses Delilah of getting Joe to spy on her, but she reveals that another housing manager tipped her off. Delilah asserts that Henderson is to not be trusted, but is rebuffed by Ellie who claims that she has turned ugly because of her profession. Delilah catches Joe eavesdropping on the argument, forcefully asking him why he was around Ellie and why he didn't tell her about her sister's presence at the improv set. Delilah tells Joe to stay out of the way, as she is still in the process of collecting evidence to expose Henderson.

The Good, The Bad & The Hendy

Delilah questions Ellie about her project, thinking that it has to do with Henderson. Ellie lies to Delilah that she is no longer hanging out with Henderson, believing that it was her who put the spy software on her phone.

While Joe is sneaking around in Henderson's house, he finds perverted photos of an underage & unconscious Delilah along with other girls, and anonymously leaves them at her apartment.

Delilah discusses the legal implications of the photos she received from Joe with her partner, David Fincher, because of his job as police officer. Delilah is still adamant that she wants to expose Henderson, but is reluctant due to the possibility of losing all credibility if it's discovered that she is a victim of Henderson. David suggests that he takes the photos to the sex crimes unit, but Delilah is certain that they will be covered-up. David reassures her that he can be trusted, and she gives him the photos.

Joe encounters Delilah messing with a vending machine, and he asks her if she received the photos he stole from Henderson's house. Delilah tells Joe that the photos are ultimately useless, as Henderson is not in the photos and their backgrounds are nondescript.

Have a Good Wellkend, Joe!

Delilah is questioned by investigators following Henderson's death at the hands of Joe, they ask about Ellie, who was the last person to see Henderson alive. Delilah lies to the investigators about Ellie's whereabouts, and chastises her for being with Henderson the night he died. Ellie confronts Delilah with the photos, but Ellie claims that Delilah is lying about the photos. Delilah admits that Henderson assaulted her, but Ellie doesn't believe it.

Delilah speaks with David in her apartment, and David asks for her to return the pictures. David tells Delilah that the police are investigating further into Henderson's apparent suicide, Delilah searches for the photos to no avail, unaware that they were stolen by Ellie.

Delilah takes the photos back from Ellie, and Ellie apologizes for not believing her. Ellie suggests that they burn the photos in order to protect the girl's identities. The sisters make amends, and they dispose of the photos by cutting them up flushing them down the toilet, Delilah finally reveals hers and disposes of it last.

Farewell, My Bunny

Delilah is present at Henderson's funeral.

Delilah tells Joe that she saw him at the funeral, and informs him of her dislike for Forty Quinn due to his close relationship with Henderson. She expresses disappointment that Henderson's public reputation will likely stay very positive. Delilah tells Joe and Ellie that she plans to expose his agent and the company he kept. Ellie invites Delilah to watch a movie with her, an invitation that Delilah immediately rejects.

Delilah confronts Candace (posing as Amy), who is trying to break into Joe's apartment. Candace claims to Delilah that her and Joe (Will) used to date, and that she left a pair of earrings inside. Delilah recognizes Candace from Henderson's memorial, and Delilah takes an interest in how she may have known him. Candace manipulates Delilah into unlocking Will's apartment, playing into Delilah's disgust of Henderson's perversions. Delilah offers to search Will's apartment for the earrings.

Joe enters Delilah's apartment, and takes an interest in her work in exposing Henderson. Delilah is comforted by Joe as she struggles with writing her piece. Delilah spontaneously kisses Joe, which he initially rejects, but they end up hooking up. Joe advises Delilah that it may be better to write her own story, advice that she rebuffs and kicks him out.

Ex-istential Crisis

Delilah is annoyed by Joe avoiding her, and tells him that their encounter is no big deal. Delilah asks Ellie why she hates Joe, to which she agrees to not pursue a relationship with him for her sister's sake.

Delilah admits to Joe that she followed Joe's advice on writing the Henderson story, and she excitedly tells him that it may be published in Variety magazine. Joe pukes on Delilah. Joe reads Delilah's story, which Joe highly praises. Delilah relates to Joe's feelings of being broken, and tells him that it's best to just move forward. Delilah invites Joe to go on a walk in the city. On their walk, she tells him that she initially thought that he was weird due to his lack of personality. Delilah and Joe share a heartfelt conversation, and they hookup in an alleyway.

While hooking up, they are caught and detained by LAPD for indecent exposure. Delilah tries to ask David for help, but his jealousy over her hookup with Joe causes him to walk away. Forty Quinn helps Delilah and Joe leave jail, and she chastises David for his unwillingness to help. Delilah spends the night at Joe's place.

The next morning, Delilah reiterates that she doesn't want a relationship with Joe, but appreciates his kindness. Ellie catches the two together again, and Delilah is called a slut.

Delilah receives a call from David and recounts the time where he stopped Joe for jaywalking. He highlights how the headphones that Joe gave him are far more valuable than what Joe could afford. David directly accuses to Delilah that he believes Joe was involved in Henderson's death, a theory she refuses to entertain. However, after giving it some thought, she begins to deduce that Joe may have actually had something to do with it. She enters Joe's apartment to search for evidence. She eventually stumbles upon the keys to Joe's storage unit.

She enters the storage unit, discovering the glass box where Joe keeps his victims. She takes photos of the storage unit and discovers Joe's trophies from previous victims. She calls David but is sent to voicemail. She is caught and confronted by Joe as she leaves the storage unit. He reveals that he saw her break in on camera, and Joe forces Delilah to hand over her phone. Delilah begs for her life, telling her that Ellie will be alone. She is knocked out by Joe and locked inside of the box.

Delilah begs Joe to let her leave, and Joe reassures her that he will never hurt her, and that he just needs time to disappear once again.

Fear and Loathing in Beverly Hills

Delilah once again tells Joe that Ellie needs her, and she promises that she won't tell anyone about what she's seen. She reveals that she knows Joe killed Henderson, and that she doesn't care that he died. She reassures to Joe that she didn't tell David about the box, and Joe forces her to pretend that her initial phone call was about a friend. David asks Delilah out on a date that night, wanting to make their relationship exclusive, but her circumstances force her to postpone it. Delilah uses her willingness to lie as proof that she won't tell anyone about her discovery, but Joe still doesn't believe her. However, her promises her that she will be freed the next day.

Joe visits Delilah to drop food off to her. Joe tells her that she has roughly 16 hours remaining in the box, and that he will handcuff her with time-release cuffs with the door unlocked so she will be free to leave. Joe forces Delilah to unlock her phone and texts Ellie a lie to cover for her absence. Joe apologizes to Delilah for how their friendship ended, which Delilah scoffs at.

At some point within the 16 hours, Delilah was killed.

P.I. Joe

A dead Delilah lays on the floor of the box, laying in a pool of her own blood, with her throat slit. Joe attempts to unlock Delilah's phone, but it is broken. Before Joe can dispose of Delilah's body, he must figure out what happened to her, placing bags of ice around her corpse. Unable to bear the sight of Delilah's corpse, it is covered with a blanket by Joe.

Joe returns to Delilah's corpse once more to speak to her, still unable to understand the circumstances of her death. After Love kills Candace, she reveals to Joe that she in fact killed Delilah the previous night.

Love, Actually

Delilah is seen alive in a flashback, where she begs Love to help her escape. While begging for Love's help, she has her throat slit by Love.

Love planned for Delilah's murder to be framed as a suicide, which would help kickstart Ellie's career.

Trivia

  • In the books, Delilah's role isn't much of an importance to the story. In the second book, Hidden Bodies, she wasn't sexually assaulted by Henderson, nor was she the landlord at Joe's apartment building.
    • She is also killed by Joe, not Love, and she has an older sister, who Joe doesn't meet and Ellie doesn't exist as her sister.
  • Delilah used to want to "be Carrie Fisher" because she admired her writing.
  • Delilah tried a similar juice cleanse as Joe, where she ate nothing for three days and vomited on her birthday cake.
