2010 R-SOPHOMORE SEASON Played in 11 games as a reserve for the Pirates… recorded five tackles (two solo, three assisted) on the season… had two tackles, both assisted, at Delaware State… recovered a fumble at Morgan State… returned one punt for seven yards at Delaware State. 2009 R-FRESHMAN SEASON Played in 11 games for the Pirates… had eight tackles (six solo, two assisted) on the season… had a career-high two tackles at Norfolk State… forced two fumbles and recovered one on the season. 2008 FRESHMAN SEASON Redshirted for the Pirates. STEPHENSON HIGH SCHOOL Split time on the varsity and junior varsity squads as a sophomore… recorded 30 tackles and three blocked punts on the varsity team, while also being named the JV team’s best defensive player… recorded 77 tackles as a junior, to go along with five blocked punts and six interceptions… earned first team All-Region honors at defensive back, as well as an All-State honorable mention… had 30 tackles and four interceptions as a senior… led Stephenson to the regional championship in 2007 and 2008. PERSONAL Born Oct. 31, 1989… son of Kathy and Carl Route… nicknamed Jidd… featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution… majoring in entrepreneurship with a minor in sports management… lists college coach, law school and possible team ownership as goals for the future.
