Diablo 2 Hell’s Forge – Act 4 Quest 2

The Hell’s Forge in Diablo 2 is Quest 2 in Act 4, and requires you to find the Hellforge location. It starts off with Hadriel barring entry into Diablo’s Lair until you smash Mephisto’s Soulstone in the Hellforge. You get the Soulstone either on your own at the end of Act III or from Deckard Cain at the start of this quest. Either way, your next order of business is to find the River of Flame (more on that below), in which the Hellforge spawns. At the Hellforge, you’ll have to fight a powerful demon called Hephasto the Armorer, who drops the Hellforge Hammer. Equip the hammer and click the Hellforge, and the Soulstone should automatically leave your inventory and appear on the forge. Attack it with the hammer until it explodes in a shower of Runes and Gems and other prizes.

This is a really good way to get Runes, kinda like The Countess. However, the catch is that you can only do the Hellforge once per difficulty level. On the bright side, you can get some really, really powerful Runes here, so good luck on the draw.

Where is Hellforge in Diablo 2

The Hellforge Location in Diablo 2 appears somewhere at random in The River of Flames. You get there by finding a large, spiral staircase leading down somewhere in the City of the Damned zone. The location of the staircase is random, too, but it’ll probably be closer to the middle rather than the edges. There should also be a waypoint somewhere close to the stairs. As for the Hellforge itself, it can be pretty much anywhere in The River of Flames; the one thing we can tell you is that, if you come across a corridor of demon statues with a waypoint near it, go the other way. Once you manage to find the Hellforge location, proceed with the quest as described above.
