Diamond is one of the minerals found throughout Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It has the unique characteristic of being used for Weapon Recovery. Diamonds cannot be used for cooking and sell for 500 Rupees each.

The most precious gem one can find in Hyrule, its signature sparkle has charmed Hyruleans for generations. As such, it has sold for a very high price since ancient times.

Diamonds are needed for armor upgrades, so don't be tempted to sell or trade them until your armor upgrades are complete. If you need rupees quickly, see - How to Make Money (Rupees)

  • Diamonds are dropped by some monsters (mini-bosses: Lynel, Talus, Hinox, Molduga), found in treasure chests, and recovered by smashing Ore Deposits and Rare Ore Deposits.
  • Ledo will offer to trade 10 Luminous Stones at the entrance to Zora's Domain. You will get an extra diamond during your first exchange. Thereafter, you will receive one diamond for every 10 Luminous Stones. Selling ten Luminous Stones gets you 700 rupees, more than the 500 for a single diamond, so don't do this more than once if you're only looking for a profit.
  • Treasure Chest in Bareeda Naag Shrine in the Tabantha Region
  • Treasure Chest in Gee Ha'rah Shrine in the Hebra Region
  • Treasure Chest in Kaam Ya'tak Shrine in the Central Hyrule Region
  • Treasure Chest in Kah Mael Shrine in the Lanayru Region
  • Treasure Chest in Keeha Yoog Shrine in the Gerudo Region
  • Treasure Chest in Maka Rah Shrine in the Hebra Region
  • Treasure Chest in Misae Suma Shrine in the Wasteland Region
  • Treasure Chest in Mozo Shenno Shrine in the Hebra Region

Diamonds can be purchased in Tarrey Town from a Goron and sold to any merchant. In Gerudo Town you can exchange it at the jewelry shop for Diamond Circlet which are useful for Guardian resistance and can be upgraded. It is used at Great Fairy Fountains for armor upgrades.

With the The Jewel Trade Side Quest, you can earn extra money by selling to the merchant in units of 10 (if she's buying that mineral that day).

Some rare weapons break, but they can be repaired:

  • Lightscale Trident - Give the Zora Blacksmith in Zora's Domain in the Lanayru Region - (1) Diamond, (5) Flint, and a Zora Spear
