Did God Create Evil? - Reasons To Believe

Question of the week: I understand God created everything. Why do you think God created evil, or if you think he didn’t, where did evil come from? What is God doing about evil now?

My answer: God did not create evil, but he did create free-will beings. The free will of these beings implies that they can choose to do good or to do evil. God is presently using the evil that some angels and humans chose to achieve a greater good. By being exposed to the greatest possible evil (Satan, his demons, and their temptations) and overcoming that evil through the help of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, we can gain eternal security, where we will never again use our free will for evil intent, and where we will gain an enhanced capability to express our free will and experience love. I devoted two whole books toward giving comprehensive, detailed scientific and biblical answers to these questions: Why the Universe Is the Way It is; Beyond the Cosmos, 3rd edition.
