Following the calamity of the Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas in November of 2021, Travis Scott kept a relatively low profile until his resurgence on social media platform Instagram, sleuths suspect he is releasing his UTOPIA album in 2022

Did Travis Scott return to Instagram?

Prior to taking a hiatus from the public eye, Travis Scott posted, then deleted, a response to the Astroworld Tragedy on Instagram.

On Saturday, November 6 of 2021, he said: “My fans really mean the world to me and I always wanna leave them with a positive experience and anytime I can make out anything that’s going on, I stop the show and help them get the help they need, you know?”

The performer would then add he was “devastated” over what transpired and reiterated that he could “never imagine anything like this happening.”

People who were at the festival and users online criticized Travis for his alleged lack of care while people were being injured during the crush.

Videos show Travis continuing to perform while people were screaming and looking panicked.

After the rapper deleted the post, his last post before his social media resurgence was on November 5, 2021 in anticipation of the Astroworld Festival.

On January 2, 2022, Travis took to his Instagram Stories to share a photo of his daughter, Stormi, posing while in black boots with a red visor and a long jacket.

Later on that same date, he then shared a black-and-white photo of himself in dress pants with a blazer over a shirt in honor of New Year’s Eve.

What was the Internet’s reaction to Travis Scott’s Instagram posts?

While Travis didn’t caption the snap, many were quick to welcome him back to social media.

One wrote: “He is back!” while another chimed in, “New year, new Travis.”

However, not all were about his return, as some took this chance to remind him of the events that unfolded in early November of 2021.

A fan commented: “Rest In Peace to the lives lost at Astroworld,” and another asked, “So we are acting like nothing happened anymore?”

Is Travis Scott releasing a new album?

In December of 2021, Travis Scott changed his Instagram bio back to saying UTOPIA.

While no official release date has been set, the album is slated to release at some point in 2022.

Travis Scott began promo for the album in August of 2020, when he posted a handwritten note saying “see you in Utopia” on the Astroworld album’s two-year anniversary.

He first updated his Instagram bio to say “UTOPIA,” the name of his upcoming fourth studio album, in October of the same year.

Following the events of the Astroworld Festival in November resulting in the deaths of ten audience members, Scott removed the album name from his bio.

On December 20, 2021, however, UTOPIA appeared once again on his Instagram profile.
