Obi-Wan Kenobi was released on Disney+ as a six-episode series, but some fans were left feeling that the show's plot didn't warrant a limited series of such a length. In fact, one Star Wars fan was so convinced of the series' poor pacing that he edited all six episodes of Obi-Wan down into a two-and-a-half-hour movie.
Kai Patterson, who is streaming his fan edit on his own website, wrote, "The Obi-Wan show, in my opinion, suffered from things that were easily fixable in the script and in the edit. Awkward pacing, whole scenes that ultimately amounted to nothing, goofy dialogue and directing choices, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and change what I could."
"I want to be very clear, this is my own artistic interpretation of how these scenes could be strung together to make something that works better for me personally," he added.
Patterson insisted the edit was made "as a fan, for the fans" and that he is not making any money from the project. His website also includes a note asking that viewers only watch if they have a Disney+ account. "Let’s make sure we’re supporting all the original artists on this show by not letting this become a means of pirating," he said.
All six episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are streaming on Disney+.
